Let me recall, Combo Fiend answered interview "We will make a better game in which everyone is viable, second maining character is not neccessary’’

So maybe it’'s the reason why they buff Vega in term of consistent footsie character who has better anti-air and punish combo, but nerfting his strong zoning game by reducing effect of RCF.

By the way, I also use Dictator and it seems Capcom applied this concept to him as well, by nerfting his Scissor Kick and let him have better anti-air tool

i abuse hp rcf when i have a chance to jump in. pushing people to the corner so that i have more space to move back was a great plus. i really hope that nerf is fake or a mistake, no low tier characters deserve any nerfs. just look at everyone else! even gen’s roll is getting buffed dammit. but all will change after location test, so it doesn’t matter as long as we voice our concerns at the location tests

Even with -8 rcf, he stands a good chance at being a top 10 or even 5 threat with the system changes and other listed changes.

Well we can stil do that, just now it costs meter. I tended to end my strings in light RCF quite often (from blocked crLP or fishing or a counterhit crMKxx light RCF) but I will adapt. CH all day every day.

I know they were, including some of our bad matchups. I still think he will be pretty good.

-8 RCF seriously?

So, I thought cosmic heel would be +2 when spaced. That’s apparently point blank. People are bitching.

Bit late to the party but man did I get over-excited upon seeing all those buffs. I seriously hope they’re legit.
Oh, and small edit but uh… I imagine that there’s a good chance we should keep most of this. It’s just my hunch but if you look at some other characters’ buffs, they’re on the same level of crazy as Vega’s. [And possibly better? Dunno.] Possibility that a large majority of the stuff’d be recalled though, haha.

Rugal… do realize that as a trade we get +4 on block for the EX version
That means AT LEAST +6 on hit. It gives us something other than EX FBA to spend meter on

If people are bitching already about his buffs then I bet they’ll nerf him. I wish these people bitching about him actually played him :frowning: Then, they’d realize their folly.

Everything except the EX ST invul sounds good to me. Even giving it 3f of invul is ok, just not all the way to the active frame.

+2 on anywhere hit on CH is a massive, massive buff. A forwards moving, comboable into ultra, throw tech beating, low beating long range move that’s +2 if spaced poorly? You are going to have sakura pressure with that shit. A couple low jabs, then walk back CH, rinse repeat with other pressure tools and EVENTUALLY a throw.

Comboing CH into Ultra on a grounded opponent is one of the hardest things to do in the game. Vega excells against opponents that press buttons anyway. Just hold down back and wait for Vega to take that risk that HAS to come unless he has life lead

Oh and don’t forget… at least 10 of the 20 startup frames are throwable. So poorly spaced also means vulnerable.

Sure the -8 on rcf is an unnecessarily big nerf. I love pressuring people in the corner with RCF. It is one of the specialities of mine really.
But the other changes are so good that I can’t find it in me to cry about RCF.
But first: these changes are not official. And second: even if its like this right now, it can change after location tests.

Cause as it is now, anyone can punish it on block with anything right now. 8f is too big. Hell they can even punish it on hit too with many things. If its -8 on block it cannot be less then -4 on hit.

And I can’t see lp hitstun buff in that list on eventhubs.

I also don’t like mask throw change. We will throw mask accidently while trying to plink mp with lp. Although I only plink cr.mp after ex.roll, which will be unnecessary with ex.roll buff it seems.

The cosmic heel buff and U2 made my day. Although I’m not sure if Trias meant me by Mr.Cosmic Heel, but I abuse that move. Its my fav move. I even move forward with it. So I’m over clouds right now.
And we will be able to cr.mk-U2 or ground CH-U2, even cr.lp-U2 right now. Insane.

I just wish they had made super hit going to the wall but whatever. It is doomed to stay like that.

I wouldn’t read too much into EH’s translations. Its supposed to be mask pick up not throw. EX Rcf can’t be FADC on hit. There’s a few other buffs not mentioned I’ve seen elsewhere in addition to the posts above

Loving the changes

It will be a fuckton easier if you have +6 move frames to do it.

For the sake of argument I’m going to assume that everyone here is smart enough to be out of the opponents crouch lk range when they use CH. I’m much more worried about an opponent throwing out a OS low kick than counter throwing during pressure.

With this new cosmic heel, vega won’t have to worry about much of a risk. He can just toss out CH from like 1/3 range and bam he is in with decent frame adv.

+2 Point blank ch isn’t staying, count on it

it’s -2 on point blank, remember, 5 active frames…

+6 on block = \ = 6 more frames on hit
