But what would the 5th game be? I couldn’t think of anything that would be played by very many people each week. I figured we could just do the $1 or $2 extra tournaments for anything else. I am open to suggestions though.
what if the 5th ranbat is for the different side tournaments and make it a different game each week.

i’m making u guys proud out here in while i’m in CT in Tekken at least. leveling up is taking place at the expense of the citizens of the constitution state 
We could do that but it would mainly be for fun (which it all is anyway right?). I doubt few if any would put their money towards a different game every week so there wouldn’t be much of a prize (if any) at the end of the season. I figure if it’s a $2 entry game, there’s some incentive to play but it doesn’t break the bank.
My vote would be either 3rd Strike, or any SNK game. There are a few people that “used to” play 3rd Strike, and a few people that are kind of playing it now that Jesse got it running. SNK just because they’re fun but nobody ever gets to compete in them, but if we decide on that, then we’ll have to narrow down which game should be played.
And I should have replied to Jesse’s post asking what game, as I didn’t mean do a different game each time like Keith said, though I’m up for that too.
Alternately, if we ran Smash Bros, we could probably bring in new people, but is it worth it? It would give us somewhere to direct the hate besides SF4 though.

Anywho, Keith gets what we were trying to do with Pokemon. Make it more fun, less restrictive, and overall more competitive. That was the entire point of a custom rule set.
Edit: One last thing. Your critique of my SSF4 skills is invalid, even if it were all true; I don’t play SSF4. I was criticizing your ability in a game you actually claim to play. It’s not my fault I don’t like what I perceive to be a shitty game. Your argument is irrelevant, much like your existence.
I did Smash ranbats in season one and only a few came each time. They only come out to tournaments that are put on by recognized community members so I only have Smash events when they come to me. I wish it weren’t that way but thems the breaks. I also ran 3S at ranbats and even for free, hardly anyone played it.
I think this would be pretty cool though. How about an SNK only ranbat where there is a different NeoGeo fighter each of the 5 weeks? I have GAROU, LAST BLADE 2, KOF 94, 96, 98, 99, 01, 02 and 03, Real Bout Fatal Fury 2, Samurai Showdown 2, 3 and 4, Art of Fighting, World Heroes and a few others. I could even try to get NGBC on arcade for the final week. It would be free and part of the ranbats but there would only be prizes at the end of the season for this mini league. I will have my new cab by then so we can play on that seeing as the other cab is fairly cramped. I think it would work fine on the new showcase cab as well. Someone remind me to test that out on Thursday please. I think this sounds fun and I would definitely play in this. All in favor say “I”

My inclination would be to pick just one so we can attempt to get better at it throughout the season, but honestly either way works for me. Also sounds like people are already coming out in support for it too, so let’s just agree on something. 98, 2k2, garou I think are going to be the more popular of those named. Probably lb2 as well, and obviously ngbc if that gets going. If Kam says anything about MIRA, ignore him as it’s not a real SNK game. I’m all for playing games on an actual arcade cabinet at an arcade for once though.
With regard to SF3, slightly more people are interested in it now that you got the board, and also everybody is there on the same day now, so results could be different, though history can tend to repeat itself.
I forgot about Melty Blood too. I don’t know if people would come out for that or not, but probably most people that come regularly think it’s dumb. I’d play tho.
I vote for 3S too. SNK games would also be great; 98, 2k2, and NGBC work for me in the lead up to KOFXIII.
If you go SNK, then I vote for Samurai Showdown 4 or 5 Special if someone has it.
Jesse- Is that World Heroes Perfect?
Matt- I noticed alot of people checkin out 3s at PU2010. Maybe a low tier only tourney will get some hype since Marvel low tier tourneys are becoming more commonplace.
