I approve of this.
who dat?
who dere?
BTW, you guys talking about Rachel in CS not being strong. Word from the first loktest for BB:CS II came out, which is basically the balance patch the console is promised. It’s a loktest so nothing’s really official yet but I’d just stick with the character if you like her bc it sounds like she’ll be fine soon:
Dustloop thread: BBCS II Loctest Discussion ~not “Complaining”~
i wont be at al tonight sorry guys first thurs night i missed since the new place opened
I need to get/borrow BB:CS soon, problem is I just have a lot on my plate right now. But I intend to get in quite a bit of playtime tonight if I can.
Hmm, maybe I can wait till the patch comes out to pick the game up? I still plan on getting it at some point, just don’t see any big hurry. Still, might be fun to see if I can do anything with her in nerf form.

here’s an old Baiken video that has a lot of the stuff you should be doing in it. Note the air backdash tatami for defense, and the instant airdash (forward) tatami for pressure/okizeme. If you do the instant airdash tatami right, you should get that weird arc on it as seen in this video. If you have trouble with the input for it or anything, let me know. Air backdash tatami can just be done without any fancy inputs, just do a backdash in the air, then tatami… It’s a really nice defensive technique because it just puts up this wall in front of you that’s hard to deal with. Note also the 2S and far S pokes and how they are used. Also note the alpha counters. S alpha counter must be FRCed to follow up, but is very safe and should be used when you’re not sure if your enemy will be in a CH state. P alpha counter is used when only when you’re sure you’ll get a CH, but is good at doing so because it comes out so quick, and can be followed up with a standard air combo. HS alpha counter is (obviously) best at a distance, but be careful as people love to bait this one. She can be hit out of the startup of that one as she leaps across.
I didn’t go through a bunch of videos, so there are probably better examples out there, but this one I think is good enough.
Also, just to remind you of your combo, it’s …tatami, jP, jS, jD (midscreen)
If they’re in the corner, you can air dash after the jD for another jS, jD. On some characters, after the air dash, you may need to do jP, jS, jD. If you frc the tatami, you can omit the jP, which makes the damage scaling a lot more favorable. If you want to go for a relaunch after the airdash, jS, jD, you can frc the jD and do a tatami while still in the air, then jump back in for jS, jD, airdash jS, jD again. In the above video, there’s a point where the baiken player is able to sneak in a far S, jD after the airdash, jP, jS, jD.
Hopefully that wasn’t way too confusing. If you want to know everything about all of her moves and how to play her and what not, I highly recommend going here: Baiken Guide: Read this first!!
You other guys, I’ll get to you, but right now I must bed.
The new Metroid game was pretty much a letdown…
What up, Lee?
Word up peeps!?

Any interest in WSU tomorrow? I’m back from the dead and I’m worse than ever at fighting games. I just want to have a little bit of a fun before my life is over AKA my balls drop and I become a man. I want to play games. Any interest?
Interest? yes. Availability? nay.
wow ok so there is a gg scene startin up again well considering how boring super 4 is and the lack of interest is ngbc and tvc i suppose i could get back into gg. how bad is venom overall i never really used to play him but if im gonna start over then im gonna start over. its either him anji or order sol
Thanks for the info Matt!

keith: venom is a very good character, but you have to keep in mind that he’s one of the top 3 hardest characters in the game imo. at a beginner’s level, he’s pretty trash since his entire playstyle revolves around being able to outyomi your opponent and have the correct ball formation out beforehand. not to mention that his entire gameplay style can change based on what ball setup he has out/what knockdown he got/screen position/etc. but when he’s on point, he’s got one of the scariest rushdowns, great lockdown, and really good mixup. he just requires a very good knowledge of the system and an even better ability to read your opponent. this is why good venoms are really, really rare in america (there’s only one).
tl;dr: venom’s haaaaaaaaaaaaard. easiest characters are like ky>potemkin>faust=robo ky>sol=jam>slayer. anji and hos are fairly easy, too. anji more so.
That was a test to find out if they would even look, Eric. It was also a test to see if you were lurking my Cincy thread. Consider yourself baited. Also, didn’t you know that the key to learning any character in GG is to learn Chipp?
Keith, if Mac doesn’t show up on a Thursday and/or if there are enough GG players to keep the GG players busy, I will be happy to play NGBC or TvC with you. I know I’m only one guy, but it’s a start. It’s not that I’m not interested in playing those games, it has more to do with the fact that people are getting hype for GG and I feel obligated to help them along and share what I know while I can. But seriously I dig your attitude towards games and like to play you whenever I can.
Also, don’t let Eric scare you away from Venom. Even though there’s a lot to learn with him, I think you can do pretty well with just a couple relatively simple tricks. Given that a lot of people are just picking up the game, you’ll have a lot of competition that isn’t going to overwhelm you, so you can develop your game along with other new players.
P ball after a sweep knockdown, then punching is a pretty simple way to get safe okizeme. Sweep knockdown canceled into HS ball, then teleport, jS for crossup oki. K ball, P ball neutral P full screen for a good defensive barrier. P ball, K ball, jK, airdash for a pretty safe airdash. Corner throw, [2S, S Dubious Curve] x N for easy combo. Gatling into charge 2, 8S/HS, dash in for more pressure. Charge 4, 6S/HS, frc can also continue pressure. Close S, 2369S for instant overhead. You can get a lot done with just these simple techniques for now, then learn harder stuff as you go. The numbers represent directions.

im gonna try to get my copy of gg back from one of my friends and ill get to work on venom/anji. more venom tho a character with good rushdown and is rarely played is just my style even if hes hard to play im confident i will be able to learn at least some of his tricks. i like the challenge of playing hard charatcters that are still somewhat good. and ill be bringin my 360 for ngbc and my wii for tvc on thurs. ill be down to play all of those games and 3s too ive been workin on my q. fuck ssf4 right in its floppy uneven tits.
I’ll play gg and tvc too. I’ve been working on Robo-Ky. I still wanna play 4 too though.
