Sounds good, man. WSU goes by quarters instead of semesters, so I still have like 5 or 6 more weeks of school before summer break comes around for me, but let me know when you do anything and I’ll see if I can make it. I’m sure Kam and Micah would be up for some games this summer. I’m supposed to teach Micah Guilty Gear once Accent Core comes out, so hopefully he’ll take to it too. I’m always into expanding the gg scene as much as possible. I know a lot of people that will play sometimes, but nobody really owns the game and can practice, so Mac and this guy at WSU are my only decent competition for now. If I can raise up more players, that would up my skill level quite a bit, I’m sure. Kam’s sorta good at GG, but he plays robo-ky, who is low tier in Slash, and he doesn’t play that much. But yeah, look forward to it.

Damn those schools that go by quarters instead of semesters. :lol: It’s all good. NKU goes by semesters: a long & torturous 16 week term of the same classes. It’s cool, but it seems too long @ times. I guess both semesters & quarters for classes have advantages & disadvantages to them.

That’s cool ur teaching all the Dayton peeps some Guilty Gear. You gotta teach me as well. I’d love 2 learn the game. Once summer break comes along, I’ll have time 2 sit down & actually learn how 2 play the game. :tup:

I’m down 4 going 2 Dayton sometime over the summer. Just let me know as well when ur free & we will plan something out 4 that.

Another Casuals Night in Cincy

I figure it is time once again for everybody around the Cincy area to get together for another Casuals Night of fighting games.

This isn’t strictly for anyone just in this area. Anyone is more than welcome to come, just post up & let me know.

The Casuals Night will take place @ Derrick’s (The Legend 2’s) place in Fairfield, Ohio (outside of downtown Cincinnati) on Saturday May 12.

For the address & directions, I’ll edit those in for Derrick’s place later on when I have more time, or I can PM anyone the address & directions if they need them.

It is projected for everything 2 start around 9:00 or 10:00 that evening, & go on into the wee hours of the morning.

Here are the games that’ll definately be on the board for this evening:
>Marvel vs. Capcom 2
>Tekken 5.0 or Tekken DR (DR will be there if we get a PS3 and DR there)
>Guilty Gear Slash
>Street Fighter: 3rd Strike

We can have other games as well, such as: Super Turbo, Capcom vs. SNK 2, and any others if ppl show a strong interest in playing other games.

I’ll start to call everyone around here to let them know what’s happening. Derrick & I would love it if a lot of ppl go to this.

I don’t know where most ppl live or where they are coming from, but these are the best directions for those of you who don’t live in or near Fairfield:

>Get onto either I-75 or I-71 into Ohio & drive up those highways until you get to exits that will put you onto I-275. You want to go I-275 West towards Indianapolis (If you’re on I-75, it’s exit 16 you wanna take, & if it’s I-71, it’s exit 17you wanna take).
>Go west I-275 until you get to Exit 36, which is the Hamilton Exit (It’ll be the next exit after Exit 39, the Cincinnati Mills Mall exit). You pass that & the next exit (Exit 36), will be the one you need to take. It’s on the right side.
>Once you get onto Exit 36, you’ll be on the Exit 36 off-ramp from I-275 & will lead you to a stop-light. At the stop-light, make a Right.
>From turning right @ the stop-light, you will be on Route 127 or Pleasant Ave. Keep going straight on that road for about 3 miles.
>This will lead you into Fairfield. You know you’re there b/c you run into a big commercial area w/ Kroger’s, Applebee’s, & all that kind of shit. Keep going straight for a lil bit until you see Patterson Drive (there’s a BP gas station on the left corner of Patterson Drive). Once you see Patterson Drive, take a left onto Patterson Drive.
>Derrick lives on or rather, off this street. His apartment complex is the second driveway in Symmes Town Square & Apartments, & he lives in Apt. #104.

These are the same directions I take. Hope this will help all of you out. The only thing I don’t like about Mapquest is that it tells you it’s on Pleasant Ave, but doesn’t mention you have to turn onto Patterson in order to get to the apartment complex.

Absolutely beautiful… no work at all Saturday this week. I will VERY likely be coming by for at least some 3rd Strike action.

Also, if a console is needed, I have an XBox (soft-***ded) I can bring over (or, if you just wanna soft your own, have that option too), plus a few games loaded onto it…

And yes, have my own stick (SFAC XBox/PS2), so no need to keep one handy… heh.

Anyway, if it’s necessary, I have MUG-- CFE as a disk (not gonna waste the HDD space on it… heh).

Also there, for shits and giggles, is a SNES emulator. Mostly games I found amusing, but I could probably be persuaded to put a couple other games on there.

All said, though, I’m looking for suggestions as to what else might be wanted on this thing if I’m gonna lug it up there.

What’s happenin everyone.

Just wanted 2 say that the Casuals Night @ Derrick’s place was pretty sweet. There was eight ppl total that showed up, but that’s ok. It was a blast.

I’m giving everyone props 4 the games & matches they had. I saw a lot of things that I liked in the games we played & I certainly learned a lot in those 2D fighting games that I’m not 2 familiar with. Lol.

We played 3rd Strike, Street Fighter, & Tekken 5 that night. It was pretty sweet, & each game got equal play time. It was fun. I was just hoping we could get 2 a few more games that were on the schedule, but time didn’t allow 4 that. Always a next time I suppose.

I’ll try 2 schedule another Casuals Night sometime in the near future. Next time around, we’ll get all the games in that are on the line-up, & hopefully get more ppl over 2 Derrick’s 2 get some games in.

Another Casuals Night in Cincy

What’s up everyone. It’s been awhile since the last one, but we’re going 2 get another Casuals Night of fighting games going on here in Cincy.

It’ll be on Saturday August 11 @ Derrick’s (The Legend 2’s) place. The fun will start sometime around 10 or 11 that night (maybe sooner) & go in2 the early hours of the morning. We will have two TVs set up for some gaming action this time around.

For directions & Derrick’s address, check out Post #51 on this thread & all the information will be there that you may need.

We will probably be playing @ least 5 different games that night, including:

>Marvel vs Capcom 2
>3rd Strike
>Capcom vs SNK 2
>Tekken 5
>Super Turbo

Other games like Guilty Gear, Naruto, or Soul Calibur will be played as well if enough ppl show interest in playing them.

Anyone who wants 2 play is more than welcome 2 join us in some fighting game action, just let me know soon if you wanna go.
