CHICAGO 2016-2017 Thread: Welcome New Players, check out the Facebook Group page as its more active!

I went to Ignite Network with Nives yesterday. The place is legit. Northsiders and anyone interested in gathering, please reply to Nives questions so we can set something up there!!!

@bombchivo where is ignite network?

haha oh yeah. sigh…

what type of parking is available at Ignite? I may be able to bring a setup. How many are already there?

Someone come to gga for kof. I am here right now.

They having a parking lot on the side. The roadside parking there is pretty convenient.

I would bring an Xbox 360, but I don’t even have my stick in…
So there would be no point in driving 30 minutes to watch you guys play :frowning:

Wife’s out of town I’m down for show.

I think they allowed 11 tvs for use. we would just need to provide systems.

3171 North Clybourn Avenue
Chicago, IL 60618

I don’t know if this has already been found but i was messing around in training mode and found an ambiquous cross up set up with yang…basically if you hold back it crosses you up but yang lands in front of them and if you block the other way guessing its going to be a cross up yang would just land on the other side. here is the link below

Ignite looks interesting from the website. What are the prices to get in?

Well someone should test those monitors with rockband 2 with a light sensor auto calibration guitar. Response time has nothing to do with input delay. But most Samsungs are using the same lcd panel inside that is in my monitor at home and it is at 8 ms so they should be good as long as they are monitors and not tvs. But the 8 ms is via VGA not HDMI. Either way sounds like a dope spot to go to, just keep us updated guys.

looking at ignites website it looks pretty expensive $5/hr is kinda ridiculous.

$5 an hour is to use their PC’s for PC gaming, not a door fee.
I am down for Ignite, but I will have to throw my hate into the “can’t bring a setup” crowd.
Also, the** MTG Chcago** thing is something I will definitely go to. I have most nights free so whenever for me.

konkrete always makes the funniest typos

So I want to start planning a second major in Chicago called Midwest Regionals, who wants to help me organize it and help run it? I know Arturo Sanchez and can possibly get Team Spooky out here to stream the event as well. Need to really get this planning going very soon as time is ticking.

Hi guys. Newbie here. I’m on the southside and mostly play SSF4:AE but am ok with getting my ass kicked in other fighters that I rarely play  . Playing online all the time was starting to get a bit boring so I signed up to srk. Seems like a good bunch here.

Regarding that post bombchivo made a few pages back, me and probably 2 other people have been wanting a place in the city to play with other people (even though we suck). We’d also be willing to go to the northside once in a while. That whole Northside vs. Southside idea would be pretty epic, too. The only thing that has us a bit hesitant on the idea is what day things would be held on. We all work until about 6 pm, Monday through Friday.

Side question since I’m new here - what’s the average age here? I’m 27. Just wondering if I’d be the “old guy” in the group lol.

Naw we have a lot of guys who are older, I am 31 for example and most of the good players are around my age as well. Also welcome to the boards, I think we have more new people now then veteran players. With that said you guys who have been playing please be nice enough to help the new guys out which most of you are. Now is the time to get our scene more stable and have things run or be more consistent like other big Cities.

Alright just got back from vacation, finally got the stupid thread ready for next week.

i’m like 50 seriously, you are far from being the “old guy”
