Regardless of how you feel about the music they made, it is unfortunate when someone takes their own life in such a way. No child should see their parent take their own life. That’s what makes me feel sad about this.
I actually considered deleting my LP tracks from my Playlist a few days ago. Along with my CDs I’ll keep them now…

I didn’t follow or care that much about Linkin Park, but fondly remember a couple of their songs from way back in the day. This is so sad. R.I.P.
you cant know what was going on in his head at the time to lead him to do that (and be glad youre not privy to that information). People who actually commit suicide and dont just say “I want to die.” as a means of crying out for help (or attention) means something bad truly happened to him to cause him to snap. Obviously many signs point to Cornell’s death being the final straw for him (apparently they were friends?), and him dying on his birthday lends some amount of credence to that maybe? Either way, he had alot of issues with drugs and abuse, its too bad he didnt seek help or at find someone who would listen to him. Just sad all around. RIP

I was beginning to wonder how fucking long I had to hear the same joke before Pertho did something about it.
Because I’m sure that he was in the right frame of mind to consider that. Depression can push a person to the deepest parts of themselves where nothing else matter but the pain stopping. Who knows what inner demons he was battling this long and he couldn’t fight the fight anymore. Is it selfish? Yes, to the people you leave behind. And it will hurt even more because they could’ve possibly stopped it from happening. But when you’re on your last thread, none of that matters to the person.
I was never into Linkin Park since they were after my time.
I stopped following rock bands after 1999. I don’t think I’ve heard even one song of theirs.

This is a mental health issue. Considering there is ample evidence to suggest that there are noticeable amount of members dealing with similar depression issues of which I wholeheartedly encourage seeking help, making light of a suicide isn’t productive. Similarly this is a guy whose music affected a bunch of people. You can say that he is “weak” for having killed himself but I can bet you’ll find a lot of people that are alive because of his music.

I make fun of people with mental health disabilities every day because seriously if anyone does anything deemed “not normal” by one person they fall back on that one excuse.

I only listened to Linkin Park in high school. Those guys built a genre.
Definitely hit home for me. Listened to them way more back during middle/high but I kept tabs on them up till now. One of groups that helped me branch out and listen to more and varying types of music. Probably wouldn’t have expanded my tastes nearly as much if not for some of the bands back in the 90’s with them being 1 of if not the top one. LP won’t be the same without him. R.I.P.

I didnt get into LP, as I was mostly into punk and wasn’t a fan of nu metal, until I saw those Rurouni Kenshin amv’s in early 2000’s. I still pop in the Hybrid Theory every now and then. I heard their new album was poppy and had some back lash…suicide sucks, rip.
