I think you just have to look at fun factor right now, no way you can compare them since SF has had years of refinement and balance changes.

Gotta give the new guy a fair shake! It is fun to learn all the new stuff IMO, I haven’t even played it yet, but think I will enjoy that…just dont want blanka to be dirt.

Whoa… Might just be the meta-game but I didn’t realize people enjoyed watching SFxT lol Total yawn fest.

Well, for what it’s worth, I think Marvel is much more entertaining to watch than SFxT right now.

But there’s some potential for the game when played 2vs2, because of all the trash talk it incites.

But you right about the “yawn fest”,** there’s just too much timeouts** and stupid losses because some players refuses to raw tag even when really close to dead.

Its not even like SF4 where its a heavy footsy battle and frame dependent. From the little I’ve played of SFxT and have watched its just a blur of nothing. I don’t learn anything, I am not amused and its just overall displeasing. Unfortunately but it isn’t my game =/

I’d hit ‘like’ more if I could. That game is fucked in the state it is now, online is complete underpants. I bought it week(s?) ago and have played it twice. The lagginess of it, the broken sound, the glitchy teleport lag rollbacks.

…And I hate Marvel… and at times sfxt smells a bit suspicious imo; there are option selects, laggy double-taps and mashing. Marvel imo is a mash game. This game sometimes leans towards the mashing end of the spectrum due to the terrible lag on xbox live. Yet it seems the host can hit combos fine.

And the blind paring system sucks a bit, a lot in fact. I wouldn’t, given the choice, connect to a yellow/orange bar opponent connection… but the automatic pairing system has no problem with it. Grr…

All that said, Training mode is fun and I’m liking the new Claw.
His combos are so much easier now; J.hk, Cr.lk, Cr.lp, Cr.lp xx lk.Scarlet Terror, cr.lk xx hk.Scarlet Terror, Super. (That’s one combo btw).

sfxt is all frame traps and footsies, things just do a lot of damage.

SFxT is pretty bad to watch now though I agree, most of the play is below my skill level for my characters so I don’t learn anything and I don’t have the understanding of enough of the cast yet to understand a lot of stuff.

Thing is, I play it like SFIV and I think(?) that is the wrong way to play. The light~ middle~ hard is straight from tekken. And a lot of the combos go like that… ending with either a cheap-feeling knockdown or a tag. I used to play a bit of Tekken but that had been beaten out of me with my SF rebirth.

Maybe sfxt is a brilliant game? It does mix the two really well… trying to balance a hardcore Tekken group with a hardcore SF group must have been a hard challenge to program. Still, some of the zoning heavy characters completely overpower the tekken side, for instance Akuma makes a mockery of all the Tekken grapplers imo.

I’m looking forward to a massive patch though, which I think will need to happen… netcode, online pairing and character balancing…etc, and which will happen due to the amount of lab-rats (like me) who bought the game the day it came out. I’m looking forward to the *finished *product, but I feel it is just not there yet. SFIV is a wildly entertaining game compared to it imo.

SFIV: Chess
SFXT: Checkers

Yeah you’re playing wrong

If you are playing a game incorrectly it’s really hard to judge it with the right perspective.

Thanks Ves, yeah I did feel that alright. Of course, it’s obvious. I don’t play much other games, but I’d imagine it’s like trying to drive in Grand Turismo after learning to drive in Colin McKray.

Tbh the only thing that saltifies me is the shittiness of current online play. Lada / Merc compared to SFIV.

outside of sound glitches the game is better than sf4 online, haha.

“Mr.Veserius, please pick up an sfxt-online-sucks courtesy telephone”,

“I repeat…”

I dont play online, but I find sfxt to be a lot of fun…and yes im biased towards the bear!

Nice to see a positive comment!
I was thinking of checking Kuma out, maybe I will peruse his forum.

lol @ the new eventhubs tierlist

the middle section is close together, so if blanka didnt have the thawk MU he would be lower midtier…but now he is pretty much high tier…

The one people made here is better.

biggest problem with the one here is that when it “compressed” some matchups somehow they got shifted around and awkward. Like Deejay got compressed to 6-4 Blanka which made it not as good as some of his matchups that seemed to staty at 6.5 or 7. made no sense to me.

Also blanka numbers for the one from here are mostly mine, haha.

I just looked at the eventhubs community tier list, it’s pretty much terrible lmao

What do you guys think about them saying Hakan beats Blanka 6-4?

I feel Hakan is free to Blanka, he can’t really do anything to him.

But I mean they have some really dumb stuff in there…Fuerte-Seth is 5-5? Gief-Gen is 7-3!!! (this is the worst one, it should be 6-4 in Gen’s favor)

I dont even look at the thing anymore. I did for about a minute before I was done with it.

Blanka beats Hakan, but not by a lot. Dash cancel stuff is hard for Blanka to deal with.

Basically if you can weather the storm to start the round and he isn’t able to reoil you probably win. If he gets momentum you will probably lose as Hakan with oil has the advantage.
