well, even though it doesnt do 400 damage, couple low shorts into stand jab into ball is still a good 200 points or so. Im sure thats good enough to frighten people of low attacks.
However, since I do slightly agree that there is some creedence to the importance of short into ultra, any hints on making it easier? I find 4, 1 frame links (3 low shorts into ultra) to be kinda crazy. While i do plink the shorts, its the short into ultra that fucks me over.
However, to play the anti card, IF overhead into ultra becomes a real possiblitiy, doesnt that make the importance of low short into ultra a little less useful? Espeecially if overhead gives us a 2 frame link to ultra versus the 1 for cr. short?
I know, im lazy and I dont want to practice low short into ultra. But the realistic side of me says that there is NO way to make it 80% guaranteed, let alone 100%, and the penalties for fucking up the ultra is pretty much death against anyone of any real skill.
well 3 one frame links, all of which are plinkable is easier than some things. Anyways one thing that helps me is making the first short meaty, this makes the first link 3 frames. Plinking ultra is something I do to make it easier.
Overhead buff actually makes low short into ultra better because people will want to stand up more.
I could get to 80% with enough grinding. 30 minutes a day of one combo until 2012 comes out.
I need to learn this, but I just love to taunt! blanka has great taunts to piss people of
nevertheless i should turn off taunt and just use coward crouch…
I need to use st.mk more in general. Everytime I hit it it beats the other guy’s button. I just hit it instinctively though, no idea why I’m hitting it when I do.
Same here, it’s like I think about counter-poking with cr.mk, but am too far away so I walk back and my finger presses mk anyway out of spite. Always seems to hit.
When i was beginning with the Stick, something funny was happened to me a lot of time : when i tried to do an ex upball AA, i was missing the charge, and the stand mk comes out and AA proprely the jumping ! And my friend said : “What ?? Anti air this shit ???” ah ah.
This normal has an OK hitbox, but stand jab or strong is better i think.
You’d be surprised. I’m starting to get somewhere with short short short ultra, and i’m getting very consistent with multiple low shorts as a hit confirm into jab [whatever]. it was mostly the realization that each link is the same. You can eventually get a rhythm for it once you realize you have to hit the ultra on the same frame as you would hit another cr.short. Try practicing it without plinking to get the full effect. It’s actually one of the ‘easier’ 1 frame links in the game imo just because it’s so quick and rhythmic.
On a side note, I wonder if any characters have like a weird knockback that would cause a second cr.short to hit meaty after a first meaty/CH short… doubt it.
