One of the benefits of learning Ryu is that if you can do his cr.lk, cr.lk hit-confirm you can pretty much do all cr.lk hit-confirms in the game because the timing is the same if you plink them.
Played strider and other abel’s online and his makoto (yes it’s online) but my thoughts.
Abel murders you if you make a bad mistake but you have control until that point.
Makoto doesn’t allow you control but your bad mistakes aren’t always punished for a bajillion damage. But they can. Makoto is way worse then abel to me ;[ Even though i do better against most maks online then abels.
I fare better vs Mak than Abel as well.
In general, do you guys try to play patient keep away with these 2? I dont like when either are too close

I tried playing patient against Makoto, but it never worked. Now I just rush her down like a lunatic.
Same here play the distance game. Whack her with a few mps and st.hp… Get brief lifelead, Then get bored and try to bite the little dykes head off. Lose.
ohh man… watching the first 3 minutes and i have tears in my eyes from laughing… it’s so freaking funny to see blanka jump roll, jump elec-roll… some interesting stuff in it.
It was cool up to the crazy anti-grav infinite air roll.
there’s so many stuff that’s broke with beast mode blanka hahaha… i like how you can cancel ball to make it not fly all the way or their version of ex ball where on block it just stops infront of the opponent… but i think what i want the most is the hop into air normals hahaha

Anyone ever get SRK mashed out of cr lk -> hp elec blockstring? While that move is a true blockstring, the blockstun on the cr lk is so low that you need to be damn fast with the hp elec to make it a true blockstring. I’ve been using lp elec off of cr lk more and more since the startup is faster.
That is one thing I like about Blanka though and maybe why a lot of old-timers seem to like him. Usually you go into a combo knowing what you are going to do (i.e. jump mk -> lp -> elec). Hit or block, you still do the same damn thing - less to react to
It can also not be a true block string due to hitbox interactions and the electricity hitting people later than frame 10.
Ves yer confusing me bc previously u said jab into fp was a block string except in certain character specific situations. I will try and get some friends to mash outta it with uppercut.
Yeah hitboxes in this game are weird, it just happens at certain ranges against certain characters. Thats what I meant by “hitbox interactions” I’m talking about characters.
Going from crouch to stand block or vice versa can actually cause the elec to hit late too. Point blank jab xx hp elec should be a true block string every time.
that actually made a lot of sense. Ive seen the elec hit late when they duck from standing too, so i kow what u mean.
Now i wanna test out far standing jab to elec, and when it can be interrupted

the best use for backhop is if english voices are on, you can hear that ahhh ahh ahh sound that blanka makes.
Backhop ultra looks good too. I once got a backhop U2AA while jammed in the corner. Complete lotto move.
