free trade > ultra is dumb. has never happened to me though, i stopped doing walking elec vs 90% of the cast, just cos its reversal bait. i dont bother doing walking elec vs ryu, just 1 rep, wiggle and sweep. or something like that.
yeah I do it still to condition people to mash dp, then bait it.
I think I might start incorporating multihit elec off of blocked jumpins, you can generally get 3 hits on most of the cast and it’s like ~40 chip.
Trade ultra used to happen to me a lot. I don’t mind much that it’s back in AE because it doesn’t do stupid damage like it did Vanilla.
These days I find that more people rage quit on me when I push them into a corner with Blanka’s pokes and mix them up with jab xx elec, throws etc than when I just lame it out all day. Especially Ryu players. They get too scared to mash DP so they just sit there hoping I’ll leave them alone lol.
whats your setup, i used to do it in cvs2. i find i get reversals out of it cos fierce elec is so slow.
so i’m on to chun li now, i lost about 4 in a row to start with, just like sakura. i actually have to turn the time back up to 99 seconds as i can’t run away with characters i don’t know at all. chun is so boring to use, can’t wait to get her over with. juri was quite fun, she’s such a spam character no wonder i have trouble with her, her moves are pretty good, so nice being able to jump back and tag focus charging with the divekick, that move is retarded, and combo into wheel kick from mac range cr.mk is pretty cool too. i think sim is next, that should be atcually enjoyable since i know how to use him somewhat. not looking forward to guy either, he he looks crap
I just do a deep jumpin and do jab xx fierce elec and mash fierce a few more times after, or do meaty fierce elec after a knockdown -> jab roll. I don’t know how good it is, I haven’t worked it in yet.
Also this an unlikely but hilarious scenario:
you are perfecting a honda, and knock him down in the corner with 2 1/3 bars. He gets up, crosses you up into st.lp xx hp hands, cr.mk xx hp headbutt then follows it up with j.hp, cr.mk xx hp hands, st.hk as you mess up your reversal. You are now dizzied and he has 4 bars. Hp headbutt xx super kills you.
2 combo death is my favorite.

J.hp, st.lp xx hp hands, cr.mk xx headbutt. j.hp, st.mk xx hp headbutt(dizzy). lvl2 U1.
does exactly 1000 damage haha.
Edit: I think I’m testing character specific things wrong when I just end up comboing blanka.

funny you should mention honda, vs honda and blanka i always do meaty 4-5 hit elec chip after a throw since they can’t reversal it and it actually makes the throw add up to decent damage! maybe i should do it vs more characters who can’t reversal meaty elec, deejay upkicks, do they whiff?
yeah they go over it and get hit. balrog headbutt as well.

Honda and Blanka can’t reversal meaty electricity? What about ex-headbutt/ex-upball?
@Bendermac: Meaty electricity = Mashing electricity over the body of a character after knockdown.
I can get 3 chip hits with strong after a f.throw>lp.ball, not very nice when a cr.hp comes out first though, best not let that happen, leaves you very open obviously.
If Blanka does ex upball when you aren’t airborne he literally doesn’t understand the mirror.
Even on hit leads to free slide, it isn’t a good option.
Yeah it works on Honda and Abel at least. It just came up in testing random stuff. You have to mash hp for extra reps of elec though or it will naturally cancel.
Also speaking of Honda, you can U1 splashes pretty easily. I don’t know if this is common knowledge or not, but I got people talking mess in the SRKlive chat about it before when a dude attempted to chip me out with a meaty splash. It’s free, just u1 sort of late and you catch him, if the splash is crossup you’ll autocorrect.

I experimented with this a while back and unfortunately didn’t find it to be that useful as I don’t think it was that ambiguous or ever crosses up. Probably very character dependent though, I should look into it again.
I saw Demon Hyo once do knockdown then ambiguous super. Don’t remember the setup or characters though (maybe Abel?). It was from vanilla but if I find the vid I’ll post it.
If it’s the same one I’m thinking, that one is f.throw, hop forward, super. HP super crosses up, MP doesn’t. It’s fairly ambiguous.
Believe it works on most of the cast. Fatty’s I think don’t crossup. I use it occasionally, but I hardly have meter for super. I tend to waste it on ex up ball.
Yeah I should’ve thought about that. I guess I wasn’t thinking. Although ex-upball does do more damage than slide, so besides losing a meter and being knocked down, you do more damage overall. I think more importantly, I was wondering why Honda can’t ex-headbutt the meaty elec.

No Blanka in MVC3, but my team will be Dr Doom, Thor, and Storm-team high voltage!
I tested this in training mode, EX headbutt, LP headbutt, super and U1 all beat meaty fierce electricity. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but it seemed pretty straightforward.
