yesterday i tried out what blanka can do against blanka u1. i didn’t know he can be killed with so many things. lets start with what i found out…

i meant just ground hop through into meaty elec, asl ong as it’s not max range cr.hk or back throw you hsold be able to avoid auto correct ex headbutt.

It’s only 10 damage of difference, and the knockdown is worth way more than 10 damage and wasting an ex bar, because super is actually great in the mirror. I don’t know if you play poker, but it sort of plays into the concept of implied odds. If you reversal ex upball and then I slide you, your odds for the rest of the match have actually gone down unless you have taken the other Blanka’s health down to ~100 with the upball and you are still relatively healthy.

It isn’t just about that one event in the match, it’s what it is directly leading to. You are just going to be meatied again post-slide. Are you just going to EX upball again?

Yeah the thing against honda is false, you can do meaty cr.lk xx hp elec though, and thats completely safe.

That is pretty good too. I think backthrow, hop hop elec should be fine, but I don’t know the frame count offhand.

Blanka’s overhead is unblockable almost. High/low mixups are good.

Also I had a weird hitbox thing happen earlier, I was trying to U1 out of an ibuki mixup and the first hit was blocked and I blasted through the kunai, then 2 other hits crossed up and connected.

I haven’t even had to use my fake overhead setup yet, my normal overhead setup just never gets blocked.

I think I need to try to combo into ultra more though, I think one thing I’m missing is damage output.

looooool trust me, its terrible but i lose quick and often so its not like i’m always the one doing the robbing. not with sagat and bison, those were the quickest and easiest journeys to C ever, i dunno if i even lost more than 2 fights. sagat fireballs are actually retarded, straight up they are amazing.

Yeah I’ve come across loads of people on ranked getting chars up to C using one short round. Makes me guilty to obliterate them with my main blanka, still how was I to know before the match started… or else I would have picked someone else too.

I tried the C to C thing too for a while but got worried that my playing style would suffer when I went back to blanka (it did a bit). So I mainly just play endless now with a few ‘friends’ who are cool to mess around with different chars too.

I’m trying to get better with Boxer, Vega, Ibuki, Gief, Sim, Sakura and Seth. Not much interested in the rest. I have 3k with Akuma from earlier on, but not playing him much anymore since Vanilla… I’ve gotten a lot worse while people have gotten way more punishing to play against with him. Really liking Vega at the moment, Boxer too. Ibuki is a real bitch, both in play and learning curve. Would love to get as good/fluid with her as I am with Blanka, I’d imagine she could shut down scrubs in a multitude of unfair and extremely violent ways. :slight_smile:

btw, yeah I play frequently this bloke I met from Vanilla who uses Guy solely. He was a B months ago, his PP is constantly very low, always falling… never going up. I don’t know why he doesn’t just switch? Same combos over and over… predictable character imo.

And After reading the Labwork thread yesterday I came across those post about how horribly vonerable Blanka is after a jap/short xx hop. I took that into consideration last night when I was playing and I realize now that my hopping shennanigan BS isnt gonna cut it.
I gotta start again from the the begining with normals and zoning I suppose. I just like all the hopping around and mixing up.
I suppose it will still work (probably better) in strict moderation

Wish we could link Lp to Hp and cancel outta Hp, then hop mix ups would GDLK
