Hum sorry, if i think it’s a 6-4, i just write “64” in the case, it’s that ? And if i don’t have an opinon for a match up, i can write nothing ?
your responses also had a 2011 attached to all of them =/
if you don’t know you can just leave a blank yes. It just sort of messed up the whole thing, I need to fix all of your numbers
just write blankas position, like 1st one is AB=Abel - I put a 4 since I think its 6-4 favors abel
I did a good response now i think, i’m sorry for my mistake.
disagree with a lot of numbers in the jap. tier list!
made my own!
Hakan MU is definitely in his favour! hakan is a nightmare! worst of the grapplers
dont know why akuma rufus and yun are so good vs jimmy? I’d say blanka is pretty good char vs yun (s.HK, elec FTW)
viper MU is in jimmys favour!
Honda, Guile and juri are even!
just some thoughts of mine
I think Blanka has everything a character could want for vs. Guile.
Easy answers to sonic booms, jumpins that beat cr.hp, a fast jump, an unblockable, and most of all guile is one of the characters that blanka isn’t free to on wakeup. Solid 6-4 for Blanka IMO.
Blanka vs. dry hakan is also very very easy why I think Blanka wins. You just prevent oil and you have an answer for everything. Oiled he’s scary but dry it’s 8-2 for you vs. like 6-4 him when he’s oiled.
What Blanka have to beat the cr.hp of Guile ?
As usual I disagree about a few. Mostly think Blanka has the advantage on Akuma and it’s even against Yun, and Yang. Honda nerfs really evened out that match up. Also I think the Zangief fight has gotten tougher and isn’t a freebie anymore.
You are by far the most optimistic of the people who have filled out the form.
Just filled in the form without looking at other responses. Was interesting to see where thoughts were similar but much more interesting to me to see where they differed. Because it seems like I might be missing something in matches that may actually be in my favour, exciting news!
What do you guys think makes the Chun Li match up good for Blanka? I feel like I have no legit approach tools and that I get viciously out footsied. Pair that with her fireball and it feels like Chun is winning at all distances. What’s your gameplan against chun? Same question re: Seth, that match for me feels like the worst thing since Balrog. No ways in and no ways out.
(Not the best blanka in the world. Clearly. Just looking to improve)
I think blanka is a good char in AE,
his bad MUs vs Boxer and cammy got a lil bit easier, so he is not free vs them anymore
he is solid vs the “I-can-do-whatever-the-fuck-I-want-and-you-cant-do-shit-about-it” twins
His big fault (2nd to be free to Fei) is, that he is a charger, and they have all in common that it is really hard for them to punish stupid stuff HARD!
i think all chargers should have a damage boost to compensate this!
look at evo 2011! No chargers at the first 35 places
Slide destroys Chun’s fireball from 3/4’s screen and in. You can literally just walk into slide range if she throws a fireball with you that far, and slide, the recovery is that bad. Your footsies can keep up with hers. Blanka not being vulnerable to st.hk/st.hp helps him a lot, and your buttons stack up well vs. hers. She’s also very easy in regards to controlling her wakeup. She’s also one of the characters that can’t do anything particularly nasty to you on wakeup. Basically gameplan is maintain space to slide fireballs, get knockdown, mix her up. Don’t get hit by hazanshu.
The biggest issue with Seth is that the match is fought at a very high pace, which is generally not Blanka style. There will be a lot of dizzies going both ways. It’s actually relatively hard for seth to get in on blanka, and your buttons do very well vs. him. One mistake can lose you the whole round though. If you can find a very good seth player and grind the matchup you’ll learn the most. playing bad seths teaches you very little.
speaking of hazanshu, can you punish that on block?
It’s safe on block. If you can focus dash it or try to crumple her on reaction those are your best bets. Wonder if you can hop through on reaction.
it does take time to come out, I think you can ball it(up or hori) but it takes really good reaction time to hit her out of it, and you cant be random balling like the good ol’ days vs chun(until she had ultra) I dont have problems with her, but that move is annoying at times.
I generally don’t have charge vs. chun, also chun could punish balls on block in super without ultra, but it was hard. At worst she got really good positioning on you. I sort of cut back the random balling after a point.
most chun’s I played didnt know how to punish it, nowadays I just eat her on wakeup, and bait/punish that ex birdkick.
While I’m asking random questions,
If you cancel a ball into FA level 1 and dash forward you’re clearly at a big frame minus. (I tend to use the FA now and again for that scratch of extra damage, a cheeky terrible throw set up, to back dash and be safe/closer or just out of desperation to stay close.) I noticed our FA level 2 supposedly is 6 frames safer on block, if I hold the FA to level 2 and dash forward am I safe from low jabs etc? I don’t know where abouts in the animation focus cancels into dash… not sure how to work it out other than to test when I get home. Although I heard FA cancels actually have no armour… so I guess if they were mashing lights they’d just beat me in the focus charge. I suppose should probably save the meter and just end everything in fierce electricity or st.rh or w/e.
I personally tend to stay away from FA cancels unless its to score surprise damage FTW, since they are so expensive and meter is important to have around. Ves might have more insight on that tho.
