not the point. I haven’t had a yang player punish upball on hit yet, but I know it is possible because I’ve worked out the punish. I’ve done it myself though.

I practice vs. lots of stuff I’ve never had happen in games because I know of the possibility of it and it’s good just to expand your game knowledge of what is possible. I have a lot of setups I don’t use either because people never start blocking the first one correctly.

I played a Guy player the week before evo and I unblockabled him 3 times without a reversal, on the 4th time I decide to do a fake one to beat the tatsu and it never came out. He just simply tried to block again, and if I had gone for it again I would have won the round much more easily.

I practice killing Blanka in 2 combos just because it’s interesting to me(shoutouts to honda damage). And now when I play Honda players I am so wary of being mixed up and getting hit by cr.mk xx hands. It’s all just working to stress the system and learn. If you watched my training mode routine of me practicing stuff vs. Blanka you would probably think I have an issue where a large portion of my time is spent beating up on my character, but it’s just understanding his limits and what other characters can do vs. him.

I’m just saying, it seems unreasonable to devote a large part of time even EXECUTING walk forward kara flash kick whereas that time can be better spent doing other things. I mean, considering that the likelihood of that EVER happening in a real match (even if the guile player is aware of it) is close to zero… it just seems like time wasted. That being said, I appreciate what you’ve been doing for the Blanka community. Far more than I’ve ever done so I guess I don’t have a right to say anything.

Walk forward flash kick is actually somewhat more reliable vs. mp horiball than upball(as in I can actually do it) so maybe you’ll see it there. If it was relatively easy on upball though that would be sick. I love interesting punishes, especially walk forward charge moves. Why I love ABK so much, Mura has a crazy walk speed and the charge buffer in that game is huge. Walk 1/4 of the screen then super flashkick, yess

Either way, keep up the great work dude. I’ve been using a ton of your technology. Wish I could help, but I’m a klutz in training mode. I’m much better at finding gimmicks than anything actually reliable.

I think a lot of using training mode is just being patient and being willing to grind things out and adapt things from other players/characters and try to bring them forward. Basically everything I do is trial and error, counting frames/training mode tiles, and building off something from before. I think once you build 1-2 good setups you get a better foundation of how they work in terms of positioning and such.

Even setups that aren’t your own can help you develop new stuff if you understand the how and why of the setup. My safeball stuff born from Viscant’s originally talking about it, my safejumps/meaties come from the one mizoteru f.throw, mp ball setup I saw him run so many times. It’s just being able to understand the how and why, then just grinding boring stuff till something comes about.

Random tidbit some might not know. Rock crusher > hop crosses over on hit, and not on block.

speaking of rockcrusher, anyone find the buff in AE useful at all?

If the buffed had applied to overhead on crouchers it would have been something to celebrate though.

It’s a little more rare with grounded special moves to get noticeable changes trajectories from plinking them, unlike air special moves.

Useful stuff I’ve used in matches Deejay kara ex sobat, yang kara ex slashes to punish blanka upball on hit(can lead to u2 with a corner or an fadc iirc)

had to shut down EVERY casual station cuz the hall couldnt handle so much elec, except it wasnt the overload but some random guys who opened the firedoors so all stations shut down (tournament stations too LOL) ! idiots…

52 pools took FOREVER and the screens seemed kinda laggy IMO

everything was delayed at least 2 hours! finals around 5 ours LOL

but u could play KOF 13 and this game looks great! unfortunately we all know SNK and they arent able to make a good netcode :frowning:

Only now discovered that U2 requires 42f charging time, as opposed to Blanka balls, Super and U1 which need 55f.

Nice I didnt know that either, I have having a heck of a time adjusting to U2, and its not the motion either. I always like my spacing perfect and hate having to stay still at anytime.
