U2 you use as a counter. If they throw a fireball, or if Sim teleports for the most part.

You can use it to punish blocked ryu sweep. Other use is off of a crumple you can hit the AA version for nice damage.

I really only use it vs. Sim/Sagat/Gouken/Rose/E.Ryu/Oni and some Ryu players. I’ve tried it vs. turtle bisons/vegas, but generally not too good.

I never use the crumple to AA version, i know it make good damages, i don’t know if it’s a reliable method.

If you see your opponent don’t have meter or ultra and he is far of you, you can use the U2 for cheap KO, but only if you know specific cases.

Certain cases have changed in AE like Ryu, he can’t beat U2 with his tatsu now, it’s good to know that.

I’ll be using U2 for sim everytime now. I made a nice sim ragequit with it last night. :slight_smile:

Sim is my hardest matchup, so I will try and use it whenever I see a teleport or fireball. A seth was keeping me out last night and seemed to give problems, I hate the long arm fierce, but if I can use u2 to limit fireballs I think this will help. Anyone use it VS Seth?

How did you get that sim to ragequit?

Was using the U2aa version against seth today. Good for that old predictable boom-jump in or boom teleport. Buffer the motion then decide kkk or ppp. Most Seths stick to a handful of stock setups and sequences, so it’s only a matter of learning when to fire it off.
To make sim rage quit I just focus absorbed all his yoga fires, kept out of range of limbs, scored one or two safe knockdowns/wakeup mixups… Made it look like I was trying to get in by sliding the occasional fireball, in safe slide range… Then just backed off and let U2 ground rip when he blew his last fireball. Both rounds. Only managed to see the opening animation, then ‘connection lost’. :slight_smile:

Seth limbs are pretty bad. from 2/3’s screen you can u2 them on block.

Speaking of things that can punish Blanka stuff, I just picked Blanka up and I know there is a list somewhere of who can punish blanka ball on hit but I couldn’t find it at least not one for AE, but I was bored last night so I hit the lab and this is what I came up with.

These people with these things can punish Blanka ball on hit. I’m not sure if I missed anyone but I’m fairly confident the list I have currently is accurate barring a few strange character punishes I may have missed hope this helps a bit.

A lot of stuff is spacing/ball version dependent.

You missed a lot of stuff too, and some stuff you listed isn’t a worry.

It’s a little hard to test this stuff unless you understand the dynamics of how ball bounceback works.

I understand sometimes you can hit them at the edge of stand jab xx ball and that may make it a bit more safe, I tested all these inputs with blanka jump in mk, cr.mk, stand jab xx fierce ball (not sure if there is a difference of spacing on hit) but I’m sure I missed some stuff and these are at least a list of very easy punishes for ball on hit. So at least I know that against these people I should probably combo into electricity instead of into ball who else did I miss and when you play people do you even give a thought to them punishing on hit or do you just test them and let them show you that they can punish?

It’s kinda strange to have a special move that is basically your bread and butter finish that’s unsafe I mean I’m okay with it cause I really like how blanka plays but I want to get an idea of who I shouldn’t ball against and when. So far I have from my own studies

I just end pretty much everything with elec. I’ll test sometimes, but a lot of the time I don’t need to. what I generally do is do a safeball setup and see if they try to punish it.

factors that matter, what ball you use, standing vs. crouching, what normal you cancel the ball from if at all, is either character in the corner, and the spacing when you activate the ball. I’m not going to list out everything you missed because that list is somewhere already and ilitirit made a video too.

Comboing into elec is smarter, safer and easier from cr.mk to st.lp xx hp.elec imo. The only time I do ball is a hasty punish or when going for xx super. Buffering punches is my way. Sliding for walking jab elec. Fav punish at moment is cs.mp, st.lp xx hp.elec. Balls suck balls atm.

If I feel like I have to end a combo with a ball, most of them I end with lp ball if I think there’s any chance of me dropping it or them punishing it.

When you can punish your opponent but he is far of you, and the elec should whiff, and you don’t have enough meter to cancel the roll, and your opponent can punish your rolling on hit, what do you do in kind of this situation ? Punish with sweep or just a throw ? Very frustrating situation for a Blanka player i think.

slide, sweep, hop -> ultra. Generally my go to options.

if you can punish with throw you can punish with jab xx elec, sometimes one or the other is better.

Maybe Ex elec in 2-in-1 ? Where the HP should whiff ?

just came back from “Super VS Battle” in london!
52 pools each around 5 players!

beasted myself through the pools by winning every match and lost (because I suck) in the first brackets match against a cody player, except there werent any brackets… single elimination! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!! facepalm

I have this weird idea that Guile can punish a blocked upball with walk forward kara ex flashkick.

I’m having trouble on the execution part though, keep walking too early.
