I would take less minus on c.HP c.HK and c.HP should be 7 frame startup. This is one of his best normals from every single street fighter it should be one of the best in 4 but currently it’s not. Chun’s c.HK is 7 frame startup and pretty safe at range on block. I would take the same type of stuff for blanka c.HP
I want super to work after an electricity on any part of the screen (not just corner).
Better hop. Just slightly.
fs.LP should have less recovery making it better the 0 on block and 3 on hit.
Throw range should be increased. Jesus this is like the most obvious one.
got 2nd at a tournament + split in top 2 in teams.
Lost to Kane(Gen) first round(very close, match, we traded rounds all the way through), so I had to claw my ass out of losers which is a new experience for me as I’ve never lost my first round in a SF4 tournament other than WCW2.
Lost to Hugo101(Yun) in Grand Finals 3-2.
Went crazy in teams, split cause i didn’t want to take my chances with hugo again even though we were in winners.
Me vs. Mike G(claw)(game 2) in my second match in loser’s bracket.
Ignore my fat head and messy hair, I need to cut both. Also I played really bad this set, execution was not going so well. Lots of cr.strongs where I’m trying to do cr.lk xx electricity and doing it way too sloppily.
1:45 in part 1 has me vs. Rekkoha(Ryu) in loser’s top 8 and a bit of losers finals vs. DJ Vest(Blanka/Honda)
Part 2 has the rest of my set vs. DJ Vest(Blanka/Honda), and grand finals against Hugo101(yun). It also has teams up to Winner’s finals including my match with DJ Vest and Hugo101 which is at 51 minutes in I believe, my other matches both teams and singles were off stream, I thought loser’s semis was great, but it was played at the same time as Winner’s finals so it was off stream.
At 19:20 in on part 2, you let the yun blob outta the corner and get beat down for it.
You tried to do a cross up electricity which was blocked and then yun was able to escape.
food for thought in the future, when they are in corner, dont bother doing cross up tricks, keep them there and elec the fuk outta them
Ack
you did the same thing again in the next match when everything was going really really well for u.
I make that kinda mistake once in awhile, and i try to not let it happen in the future.
Blanka rapes people when they are in the corner, electricity shit is just too good when they cant go anywhere.
Ok, me no say no more, but if yer going to evo (im not, visited friends and their kids instead) its something to remember.
I didn’t play that well vs. Hugo, I played much better vs. him in the previous tournament
I know I shouldn’t crossup, but I do it anyways stupidly. I should work blocked electricity into kara throw/cr.mk frame trap, and use st.jab, st.strong to catch jumps and possibly buffer electricity.
I’ll blame not sleeping the previous night, and that being my 9th match in the tournament. Remind me never to go to losers before winners semis ever again.
Yea, blanka more than anyone else really needs to play smart. The old days of crap spam blanka making it anywhere are long long long long long gone. What i kinda like about blanka is he has a really really deep metagame, with lot of little crossups and strategies and techniques, a much deeper character than most realize. And its especially the small things, like letting people out of the corner, that can truly tank blanka where other characters may be able to recover from mistakes more easily with massive damage all at once, things that blanka really doesnt have.
oh, one thing i didnt really notice too much against yun, is the use of downback.
I’ve noticed that keeping that down charge, and upballing as soon as yun leaves the ground, is a really solid move. I noticed instead of that, some of the time anyway, looks like u rolled, or at least was in your rhythm and rolled (horizontal roll) whenever yun left the ground, which often traded with dive kick. Finding alternative ways to beat spam dive kicks, other then buffered elec has been a pet project of mine,
The insta dive kick, that is very very close to the ground, and other dive kicks that are similarily very fast, seem to be the most difficult for blanka to deal with. But these other tricks, i.e., instant upball (not usually ex unless your really late with your timing) keep yun on the gruond, making him avoid a lot of dive kick spam. Controlling, or at least shaping yun’s attack pattern has to somehow be in blanka’s favor, at least in the “feel good” kinda way.
Interesting vids, only seen the first few matches. I’ll catch the rest tomorrow. Tough matchs so far. Setups are hard when people don’t play stupid. The offensive bits are well planned on both sides. Easy to see it’s down to frames, most times.
In other random ves is awesome news, you completely tore apart DJ vest’s blanka, and he even tried to counter pick with honda, and still got smoked tells me a lot about vest as a player. Nice shit on slappin that fool around.
