I’m down for games tonight, either in person or on xbox.
Newbie Sagat Stuff:
Learn when to use Uppercut, HK, f.HK, and kara-uppercut as anti-airs, and how to link the ultra from all of them.
Learn to hit confirm when you can get two f.HK’s in a row. If the first f.HK hits too low you won’t be able to land it, and you don’t wanna whiff f.HK.
Learn to zone with tiger shots.
Learn to kara tiger knee.
Learn when to use j.lk, j.mk, j.fk, and j.mp as each have their own uses.
Block strings can be reversaled through if you timing isn’t exactly right. Be aware of that.
Block strings I’ve seen are:
c.lk, c.lk, c.mk, tigershot
c.lk, c.lk, c.lk tigershot
I think c.lk, c.lk, c.lp tigershot might work too.
Replace tigershot with tiger uppercut if anything lands. Tigershot ender if you want to push them away. Tiger knee ender if you want to get back in. Mix it up.
My bnb is j.fk, c.mk, tigershot because I never remember to uppercut.
Sagat’s target bnb is c.lk, c.lk, c.lp, tiger uppercut (into ultra~)
I know c.lk, c.lk is a link. I don’t know if you have to link c.lp off the second c.lk, I haven’t tried it. You do the fierce tiger uppercut.
If j.hk hits deep enough, you have enough time to link the ultra directly. Use this if you can’t consistently get the ultra to hit after FADCing an uppercut.
Sagat’s pokes are fk, mk, c.lk, mp, and crouching mp. Crouching fierce is good, but not cvs2 good. Only fk and mp can’t be followed up. Mk links to knee or uppercut depending on distance, so does the only ones.
Both of Sagat’s throws put the opponent at full screen, so remember that when you’re choosing which direction to throw them (torward the corner if you want to keep close, away from the corner if you want to get space)
Try to keep 2 stocks of ex on you, because you want to be able to threaten linking the ultra once you get it. Sagat with no ex and an ultra is a lot less scary than sagat with ex and ultra.
EX low tiger shot is really good.
EX uppercut is his most damaging non-ultra/super combo ender.
That’s all I can think of for now. If I’m wrong, feel free to correct me on anything, I’m learning too.
