I’m also gonna have to say no freaking way as well. You can post the combo here if you’d like. But I don’t think hit stun would allow Morrigan to get anything above 550 - 570K meterless without the help of X factor, AV, or assist.
Yeah, I got this combo and it is really practical, but will require some excecution skills. People told me that Morrigan’s Mission 10 is really hard, I’ll try that tomorrow and then I can compare with the combo I came up with.
I also came up with other combos, so I’ll be doing a combo video for her.
I hope that will make you guys stop complaining about her so-called low damage output, specially now with her fly cancels more reliable.
And no, it does not require Astral Vision, but I’ll be sure do create some combos with that mode.
I never complained about that lol but most people did.
also, does it require corner? And im excited to see combos that are somehow simultaneously practical but still require a solid amount of execution prowess.
speaking of AV mode, does crouching heavy to forward heavy still whiff on zero and sent in AV mode?
It does require corner, for 611,700 and 550+ for midscreen combo.
If you guys can do the combo from my last combo video, you’ll have no problem doing this one.
They are practical, specially the midscreen one. Im still working on Astral Vision combos, but it doesnt seem to be worth activating it for combos.
The midscreen combo will probably take the opponent to the corner, but if you start from the corner, you can land a full Shadow Servant after.
if you check the combo thread theres a reallly good AV combo that does 700K and lands a double hit soul drain for 60% of the opponents meter, so if youre looking for stuff you can start there.

I dont know how to link to specific posts… but post number 126 is my post explaning how you can combo into and out of soul drain. and post 130 is the one that actually has a the full 700k combo in it.
Thanks. I was thinking about trying the forward + M for combos, but I never really tried. I seemed a little useless on vanilla, but looks now it is useful.
That 700k combos does require the clone HC, right?
yes, as far as I know, thats the only way to integrate soul drain into a full combo, because the clone hits them back towards you which is what makes the rest of the combo connect. but now that Im thinking about it, you might be able to pull off some variation of that in the corner, since the opponent doesnt get pushed back, even though you still do.
I’m probably the only Morrigan player that will say this, but I want vanilla back. I miss my abare. Ultimate Morrigan can no longer convert a super jump height air to air jL into essentially a full combo anymore, and that aggravates me to no end. Especially when playing against people who have realized they can mash f+H during any other attack for guaranteed throw breaks.
That sounds less like a Morrigan concern and more like a throw tech change concern.
The Morrigan concern was the fact that jL, jM, jM, jH xx Shadow Blade M xx flight, jM, jM, jH xx Shadow Blade M xx Finishing Shower no longer works as air to air at super jump height. That’s a huge loss of abare that just pisses me off every time I play. Morrigan’s jL basically wins all air to air confrontations, but it’s difficult to convert it into anything meaningful except at low normal jump height now.
Can’t you do the same combo with Soul Fist in place of the last Shadow Blade?
I’ve never managed to have Finishing Shower combo after Soul fist that late into a combo without assist support.
It works, I managed to pull it off once(it really was luck at the time) and the damage is slightly better since the soul fist H doesn’t lift the opponent like shadow blade M so there’s a better spread with the finishing shower.
Trying it again, it’s corner only. Soul Fist doesn’t leave them in hit stun for long enough if the missiles have to actually travel.
Regardless, Morrigan’s biggest buff were the nerfs to the rest of the cast. She’s more viable because others are less viable. :]
That’s nowhere near true. No one got nerfed very much, and Morrigan is actually way better than before.
Haha… okay, let me know what happened to the DHC glitch then, which was a brick wall separating the high and low tier characters in vanilla.
Granted, she didn’t gain SO much from that change, but to say that no one got nerfed is a steep exaggeration
What did she get that drastically changed her? Soul steal is nice, but even that’s only really useful in Mirror form. Otherwise, she lost her ability to block during airdash and can’t confirm at SJ height. How is she better?
