Changes for Morrigan in UMvC3

I think she can only do that after an air throw.

Not off of air throws, you didn’t.

No just the regular ground one.

Morrigan could only perform Shadow Servant off of a grounded back throw, or off Vector Drain when she was stuffed in the corner. She didn’t have enough frame advantage in vanilla to perform it off a standard air throw, her grounded forward throw or Vector Drain from anywhere else on the screen.

What can she do from a throw now?

Apparently she can use Shadow Servant off any air throw or her command throw from anywhere on the screen. You also have enough time to call an OTG assist to continue a combo.

I don’t know if this has been said anywhere yet, but Morrigan can combo into her meter stealing fireball from her 6M command normal.

Even on regular hit? Not just the counter hit stagger?

No counter hit required. Anything that can combo into 6M can steal some meter. It might be possible to fly cancel it and continue the combo in the corner as well. You need to be close though.

What if the 6M is in the middle of the combo? For example:
j.S, c.MH, f.H, j.MHS, f.M - can you link it off of that f.M?

If this is true, I have a midscreen combo for someone to try: Activate Astral Vision, tri-jump H, c.H>6H xx Soul fist H xx Flight, jH>jS, M>6M xx Soul Drain. If that works, I’ll think of ways to keep it going later.

the question is does astral vision soul drain counts as two meter rapes when it crosses up…

Sorry I got a little ahead of myself. It only works on the ground. In both of those the opponent recovers after the 6M before the fireball connects.
Without AV the best I can seem to do is anything where Soul Drain is the 7th or 8th hit of the combo and nothing seems to be able to follow after.
With AV its not that much better but you can fly cancel Soul Drain and get squeeze some more damage out of the combo or cancel into Morrigan’s level 3.
Either Soul Drain or 6M (or both) seems to cause a lot of hit stun.

I will also say that I am pretty tired and today was pretty crappy so it might not be impossible as much as it is me failing at it.

I’m pretty sure that only works on the ground. Dark Quills is known for causing a ton of hitstun to a grounded opponent and causing a stagger on counterhit. Used against an airborne opponent it does nothing special. You could definitely do Dark Quills / Soul Drain / flight cancel or activate Astral Vision, but without an assist your window of opportunity to continue the combo would be slim. You might have more room to work against a cornered opponent, but mid screen your options would be limited.

i only played little with morrigan. she felt pretty much the same. didnt even notice the air dash forward. and went thru her 10 missions.

they are the same except the last one is L shadow blade loop combo in the corner.

oh ok its l shadow blade fireball loop. fly unfly stuff.

and they changed the other missions instead of h shadow blade they are using m shadowblade. more missiles would hit then before.

rest she felt the same really.

ok you guys say her drain fireball is slow and stuff… but it stays on the screen for a long time. covers you to get in and stuff. so. with hidden missile its ok i guess.

Around 10:10 we see some soul fist spammage
