maybe it would be an interesting study but of course the systems are not as they were, not untouched. This is why, for me, the whole premise/novelty of this of game seems faulty/dishonest (kindof). But of course I will buy if for xbox (please) and cant wait to play it when it comes out (my ignorant opinion may change).
I’m not bothered how fast a game is, I just want it to be good and enjoyable. But all of that is beside the point. The way I see it, they’re aiming it at the tourney market. But tourney players won’t be playing it because their local arcade doesn’t have it. So No competition = no players = vicious circle = pointless game.
I think that was the point. It’s an old game. By it’s very definition, there is nothing new in CFJ. We’ve had all the mix/match/isms we can handle.
The problem with CFJ is that it stands in the shadow of every game that is “represents.” It’s like, take all your favorite games, cut small slivers of them (not necessarily slivers you like), paste them together, and you get CFJ. I would rather play Super Turbo than play Ryu, Zangief, Guile, or Bison in CFJ. I’d rather play Alpha 3 instead of Rose, Guy, Karin, and Sakura. I’d rather play Third Strike than play just Urien, Chun Li, Alex, and Yun. Noticing a pattern yet?
CFJ is an incomplete version of all these good games, yet offers little to make up for what it lacks in each game.

Even if Capcom put 57 charas in CFJ and they were all redrawn to SF3TS standard and had GGXX rez then the most gamers still wouldn’t care :mad: but they’ll eat that MK shit up :mad: we’re just not finacially viable and we probably never will be : (
The only chance we have is if Tekken meets FPS and Double Dragon with a 2d style of play(almost like Star Wars Jedi Knight II but much better)? We’re in the twilight years lads, enjoy it while it lasts 5 years tops? Poor Arcades I’ll miss them :sad: .

I will say that expect this rumored Darkstalkers game to be lightyears beyond CFJ. Mainly due to the utter discontent of most fans over these last few fighting games that have been coming out.
You can’t just compare it to copy-and-pasting. I haven’t played the game, but I’m sure none of the characters feel like they originally did, now in this new environment. They have been adapted to a new engine, have new match-ups, and there are alterations to their moves and subsystems. CvS Sagat has the exact same sprites/frames/animations from Alpha, but feels nothing like his Alpha self. Mixing stuff up like this alters the dynamics of the game, and thus makes it significantly different and new.
Cen, where have you played CFJ? Do they have it at CTF?
I don’t believe CTF has it. I only think they got the Neowave KoF or something along those lines if I’m not mistaken.

6 buttons > 4 buttons
1 on 1 matches > 1-4 vs. 1-4 matches

CFJ already has loads upon loads of shit piled on top of CvS1, which was prematurely shitty even from a casual POV. How could you not think that? How? Why?
They have CFJ at Kong Man Center on Bowery Street, its only a couple of small blocks away from CF. No one plays it there, virtually almost dead. Fifty cents to start/continue. Once you’ve played it, you pretty much get the picture why CF doesn’t have it.

i bought the game a few weeks after it came out (as i usually do). me and my friend just got bored with it after about 30 minutes, even going through the whole cast of characters, the only fun people we really got to were kenji and nool, everyone else just seemed goofy, anakaris was fun for a few matches but ehh, most of the cast is pretty dull, ingrid and karin are fun, ST characters are all top tier easily, zangief is a tank, but it’s too slow and straightforward

I liked this game at first but got bored of it within a week. its kinda fun but soon gets boring simply because there is very little depth and things to learn in the game. 3s, cvs2, mvc2 all have much higher learning curves. So many characters got noobified too, check out urien, see what a boring character he had become with a fraction of the depth of his 3s character
I don’t think this game will bring the best out of tourny players and will soon die, I think sf players will mostly stick to the above 3 mentioned and st and let this one die.
Time to go make a new SF cel shaded game from scratch capcom, you know you want to.
