Capcom isn’t gonna waste money redrawing everything for every dreammatch they make. Can we all at least agree that they will NEVER do that? If we can do that then nobody will be pissed off/suprised when CFE2 comes out still using Guile’s Alpha sprite.
For only 30 bucks I’ll still snag it, then go back to playing R&C3 online.
Although I’m not entirely happy with the game being somewhat of a cut and paste job, I’m still going to play it (with Felicia being there it’s a guarantee for me) and it will be nice to cut off the excess fat of CvS2 and have things back track a bit in terms of relying on the basics.
Hopefully my local arcade gets it.
What the hell are you people complaining about? It’s either this or the same old rehashed games for the next XXXX years. Just play it, and enjoy it while you still have new fighters to play.
I thought that huge Dinosaur reminded me of the good old days of Primal Rage. The only downfall that I can see is that huge frame hit boxes. I have also yet to see that Wazard ninja character while watching the vids but this Lion character has some mad long poke range with his sword.
Jedah seems like the most favorite character so far. Not only with good lockdown setups but the quick airdash high/low mixup is very familiar with CvS2 Morrigans airdash N-K Groove. Karin seems to take down Jedah fairly well in those vids and CC’s IMO are done the same way as CvS2.
I won’t judge this game until I play it. Hopefully an arcade near where I live does get the game.
no no no no. SNK RE-releasing SVC is the worst game of the year.
All about da Nool kids… watch, he gonna be da next doom…
i’ll buy it to practice combos since this is definitely going to a tourney game
im glad someone see’s the same thing i do… i remember ppl were saying i was full of shit when they saw the first loke test video.
I agree, the graphics are really dissapointing. Other than that tho, I think this game will be good as long as its fairly balanced. Cmon guys! the arcade industry is dying! Capcom is releasing fewer and fewer 2d fighters! This website will die a slow death if its members keep dissing any new game capcom releases after they’ve only played it for about a month. What really surprised me was that inkblot, of all people, dissed this game like he did. Its still too early to tell.
lol, its a funny pic, makes laugh everytime i see your face. cool!
dont get me wrong. i like the game.
personally i cant wait to play, reason i dont get bored with these games is i soley buy them to challenge my brother in them all the time. old skool vs. new but i usually win 8/10 but he’s getting better.
Man I’m glad Tekken 5 drops in two weeks along with Halo 2. Now i don’t have to settle for that lazy thrown together piece of crap known as capcom fighting evolution. Should be called capcom fighting stagnation from what ive heard and the footage i’ve seen of it. As long as peeps put up with recycled shit, capcom won’t put any effort into making an innovative fighting game.
that is funny as fux.
The arcade scene is only dying to fanatics. It’s dead to everyone else.
The fact that you coincide CFE with the arcade industry–even though it’s going straight to console–further reinforces my point.
Hey would you look at that. Someone has some sense to throw around. Share the love bro. Share the love.

I’ve got to go with the Don Mack on this one. If all goes well Tekken 5 is gonna be crazy where I live so I’m not even thinking about CFJ. In fact T5 might be the bandwagon game to jump on if you want keep the arcade scene poppin’ in America for a year or two.
No, actually if peeps dont put up with recycled shit then Capcom’s gonna quit making 2d fighters, It’s not like the assumption is that if we don’t play the rehashes then that must mean we want something new, the assumption is no one likes 2d games anymore so they’ll quit making them.
Better to have Capcom stop than keep supporting their crap. Theyre a joke for the casual gamers now - just look at any forum, what people will say when Capcom fighters are brought up. And they even have the guts to say in interviews that making this game was “harder than a new game” (well, then why didnt you make a new one?), that this game “looks very good”.
The reason we have CFJ is because people supported rehash like CVS2, MVC2 instead of SF3.
Tekken 5 is a good game for arcades as a whole - you can even bring your PS2 joystick from home. That will make some PS2 players go back to arcades to compete. Plus, the game is not a disgusting rehash like CFJ.
Games like CFJ and KOF: NeoWave are bad for arcades overall. Only the handful of hardcore players care about those. Hell, a lot of hardcore players laugh about those two. And they have every reason.
It’s funny you say that considering Capcom stated that CFE is their last 2d fighter.
But even if that weren’t true, I’d have a hard time digesting your logic. Maybe it’s because I’m not insane over Capcom myself (and despite what people may think, I do love the company), that causes me to detest it so. All I know is, not even my mother could sell me a piece of shit wrapped in a box for 30 dollars.
I’m sure alot of you will get antsy over this, but IMO, if a company like Capcom won’t put the effort and resources into innovating the very genre they’ve galvanized, then maybe it is time for the genre to “die”.
With that logic you people are in a lose lose situation.
“Look, they sell us crap. But if we don’t buy their crap, they’ll stop making crap. Then all our crap will die.”
…
Like I said before, I’m not blinded by fanaticism, so maybe I just don’t see where you guys are coming from.
