I may actually not buy CFJ on purpose in protest.

One of the problems with the newer games is that you CAN’T play characters like your used to. Not so much like your used to, but how you would expect to. In the past few games the diversity has killed the strategy, you spend months learning how the game works, then a month later some glitch comes out that renders everything null and void and now 80% of the game is cookie cutter combos (which still might happen in this game).
You also go on to say that gief can’t beat DS characters, if that becomes true in the long term, then the balancing act wasn’t that successful. However i’d rather go to a better version where the speed is a little faster, and he some move tweaks to help him, than have gief airdash from half screen, Roll cancel a lariat (blocked) Roman cancelled into a RBG that combos into a custom ending in a cc infinite. Somehow it wouldn’t feel like the same gief to me, but i think some people would be saying it’s the new greatest game ever.
It appears as tho if your looking for a modern game your going to be disappointed, but i think the biggest positive to come out of the game will be to bring some people together that are already playing SF, everyone that was into ST or VS or 3s or A3 will probably at least look at this game. Leave the flashy stuff to SvC i guess.
Game is actually good. Most people are just to spoiled now days to realize it. It just like cvs1 and 2…first one was decent…they greatly improved part 2 but rushed it and it ended up being broken =P Hopefully they wont rush the 2nd one and that will be the real deal.
Right now, CFJ is decent and fun, back to the basics…footsies and lock downs, turtle to much and get thrown all day…cause throws are way top tier…kind of like ST =P

I’ve been playing CFJ since the betas. It’s fun. I’ve been seeing a wide variety of characters being used, and so far there’s no overly abuseable/broken shit. Back to the basics, before the days of rolling and roll super and all that other nonsense.
The other day there was this guy using Alex and he was just killing everyone. That was a fun match for me because although I’ve fought Alex tons of times in 3S, I’ve never fought him using Karin, nor has my Karin fought anything like that before.
Arent the best marvel games the ones with the least capcom presence? They make ok assists but don’t let them become playable.

I’ll take this moment to say that it’s the American outlook nowadays to write this off as a cut and paste, and not play. I can personally say that Gief is a viable choice against DS chars, simply because he doesn’t NEED to get to them, they ALWAYS come to him. From there, you can do your sac SPD/whatever. Read the real thread and don’t cry about the shit you haven’t experienced yet. That’s why the Far East SRKers are letting you know about this game.

my first impression on watching videos is that jedah is top tier, everyone was using him. and that the game looked A LOT like guilty gear with 2 jedah’s dashing everywhere and rushing that shit down. game doesnt look bad, certainly not slow…my only concern is that giant dinosaur, looks whack
