CFJ is good: Quit overreacting to Jedah, idiots

Screw Kerry and George W. Bush. Viscant for President!

This entire thread is talking about the effect of one character? Don’t CvS2 Hibiki players have anything to say?

I agree that people need to shut up about Jedah, but that’s not why I don’t like the game. See, in general, a good game has to make you want to play it. CFJ makes me feel like I’ve already played it and I should play something else.

Exactly, I agree 100%. Vampire Savior was the most horribly underrated fighter of all-time. Jedah air-dashing and throwing saws isn’t new to anyone who has played VS at any time in the past SEVEN FRIGGIN YEARS. If so many of you asswipes would stop sucking off the MvC2 and CvS2 choad, you’d know how not to get owned by Jedah.
It’s like Viscant said. You nuthuggers have been trying to pull the same shit with Ryu and Guile for so long you just can’t deal that the Darkstalkers are on the stage now.

When I saw the vids i just laughed. People could voice their thoughts on the game and say Jedah is gay, who gives a fuck. If your gonna buy it then buy it, if not the don’t.

BTW I don’t think hauzers tail is like c.fp, i don’t think you could combo a super off it, or that is has a long lasting hitbox like sagats. But if you could combo off it into a super then that shit is wayyy worse then c.fp lol

peace

Sav

LOL @ the VS nuthuggin, shoulda played it BEFORE, NOW U GONNA GET RAPED!

Whats the idea here, you guys dont’ know how good he is in the game either

I could be wrong, but last I checked, Jedah wasn’t that great in Vampire Saviour. For pretty much the same reasons mention here: few options at sweep range and no knock down. I don’t know about the ā€œno anti airā€ charge though: In VS, his hcb + P was a deviously good anti-air when spacec correctly.

I also have to ask: Where is the revionist love for Vampire Saviour coming from? Just because Japan plays it? Where are the Vampire Hunter fans?

Oh, us Vampire players are here, it’s just that we’re getting a good kick out of MvC2/CvS2/ST players bitching over Jedah.

I barely ever got a chance to play Darkstalkers and most of the time I was Demitri and that was like 6 years ago. Are those moves Jedah does in the match vids self-mutilation attacks or is the gallons of blood just generated from him for style factor?

???You vs players commenting that this is funny are idiots, the only people complaining are those who haven’t played the game.

You sounds like some schmuck who just wants to plug how cool it is to play vs.

Lets ease of the hate people!

All i’m asking is that the amusingly smug fanboys for Vs realize how stupid they sound. well…that and a serious shortage of retarded posts from their type. :pleased:

I watched those vids…all the darkstalkers chars make the game look like it’s MvC2.

Obviously i’m going to play it…i’m not getting my hopes up though, i’m expecting another CvS2

Correct me if I’m wrong here but last time I checked Inkblot and most of the ā€œO.G. Greatsā€ have trashed ALL CAPCOM fighting games in one way or the other since ST right?

Wasn’t he the one that called 3s crap?

I play for myself, not on what dudes in Cali say - think for yourself thank you.

ā€œoh no, the pros say it sucks, well I won’t play it!ā€

I’d sooner listen to the JPN scrubs over here in Oki before I’d listen to the ā€œOGā€ guys who only pop up when ST makes a resurrection tourney.

All these people saying Jedah is unstoppable haven’t played the game have they? Dumb fucks.

The reality of the situation is that:

-The game JUST GOT OUT!!!
-There have been a lot of characters that are said to be God Tiers, these include Ryu, Bison, Karin, Guile, Demitri, Anakaris, Mukuro and Jedah. Doesn’t this strike anyone as a GOOD THING?!
-There are fad characters and late bloomers, as in characters that start out as God Tiers but eventually lose their shine as the game gets older… Jedah is most likely one of them.

Jedah may not have been that great in his series (I was never a big fan of it), but the reasons that people are having problems with him is that the characters they are using do not have the tools to deal with his moves that the characters in the Vampire series had. Zangief can do one thing against a properly played Jedah (except die), and that is sit back and build meter. He has no airblock. He has no dash. He has nothing to give him mobility and still deal with the wheels. Characters in the VS series didn’t have that problem. Likewise, characters from the older series can no longer use their ā€œsaving graceā€ moves (which, back in the day, helped them to balance out a fight) because of additions to future games’ systems. Fighting games have evolved over the years. What CFJ is trying to do is see if a fighting game, UNCHANGED from its original form, can compete with another fighting game that was given many IMPROVEMENTS on the inferior original design. In some characters’ cases, this is not possible. I still play it, but like someone said, it’s like I’m playing a game that I’ve already played before… but now I’m playing against characters who were given moves that were considered tolerable due to features in that games system. Unfortunately, some of the characters come from games without those features. It’s like Daigo said in the Arcadia article a while back… people will play it just because they played the old games. But in my opinion, it doesn’t have what it takes to last over time. If it succeeds it will be because of a lack of other options, since there are no other quality Capcom games planned for release in the near future.

when it comes out on the 16th of November for the ps2 and after playing it for a few months will anyone really know how well it plays since the arcade board is only in a few arcades in the U.S. Just give it some time…damn.

1st USA CFJ tournament results.

I believe the 2-4 place finishers in the Japan A-cho tournament had Jedah on em.

jedah has the potential to stay in a ā€œgodā€ tier, of course i dont know the future and shit will most definitely change but against the jedahs the like of which i saw today it will be hard to beat him if some sort of strat isnt found. hes got lots of tools and advantages but the main one seems to be the fact the wheel is pretty much a half screen wall and short of maybe ingrid rolling through it or super fbing through it there isnt much you can do to get in or through it.

unlike ingrid if you wait for jed he’ll come in throw one in the air then air dash over you to cross up to chain combo which does nice damage (well adequate to allow you to run and go for the timeout).

i tried bison and got hit out of psycho crusher… i had a little success against him today by staying close and keeping the pressure on thing is his wake up roll makes it very hard to maintain pressure… id go as far to say if they took that away from him itd be a much easier fight…

im not saying hes broken but i am saying that as ppl get better with him hell probably become a staple, specially in tourneys…

Forget Jedah. This game has much bigger problems.

There’s very little to learn. No new systems. Very few new characters. Compare this to ANY SF or ā€œversusā€ release since Super Turbo (except the awful CvS1).

Slow. Speed is slightly slower than CvS2. 1/2 the characters don’t have advanced mobility (run, dash, roll), making them feel even slower. It takes forever to switch characters between rounds. Slow.

The graphics are not ā€œclean.ā€ Most (all?) of the sprites have been resized and look extra pixely. And the game looks like mugen-figher, seriously. Some matchups are ok, like Ryu vs. Guy. But many (any Warzard character vs any Darkstalkers character) look so bad that, for me at least, it seriously gets in the way of playing the game.

The combined effect of this is an unexciting game, which IMHO has no longevity.
