man, i really want a sony ericsson phone. Is there anyway I can get sprint service on one of those phones?
I do have insurance, but is it possible to get a completely different phone? I think my insurance covers like 50 dollars or something, but I want http://www.alltel.com/phones/lg/ax8600s.html not another rzr
Hey guys.
Could anyone recommend me a nice fliptop phone for around $100-200 - like, one that works in the Philippines (lol, I have no idea what GSM frequency they run on over here), but yeah. Anyone have any suggestions?
One that comes with a camera and bluetooth, atleast.
according to my boss, his phone works in china… this is his.
I’m getting a cell phone again in a month or so and I was looking into Altell, most people recommend it out here cause it’s the only service that works out here (I’m currently in some BFE town in arkansas and nothing but Altell works untill about a 20 minute drive to the nearest “city”) which is what I need.
but I also plan on moving back to Olympia around October and I don’t know how the service/plans are. Down here or in Olympia …any thoughts?
Samsung seems to work everywhere, it seems. My friends from Korea brought their Samsung phones and they work here, too.
How much is that phone, btw? I only saw one price - $199.
Any other phones you recommend, though?
samsung would work in korea, because samsung is a korean company. lol. they probably make all of them work in korea. haha
err, yeah… anyway…
other phones? umm… the helio is supposed to work, likewise, LG works in most places around the world as well.
lol, I meant that they brought their phones from Korea to here in the Philippines, and it still works, lol.
I’m looking at buying either a Nokia or Samsung, just don’t know which one.
Any sites that ship internationally or just sites I could look at that you would recommend?
check amazon, but i’m not sure if they require you to purchase a plan on every phone.
if not, ebay would be your best bet.
I am in the market for a new cell phone, and really these are the only features I want.
- Great reception
- Ability to upload MP3s
But I currently I have an LG Vx 6000 (7000?) series, and this phone gets the worst reception of anything I have ever owned. When I go to the store they tell me every phone is the same reception wise, and it doesn’t matter which one you get. I also cannot find reviews that compare reception (that don’t seem biased or are just someone’s blog), so if anyone can point me in the right direction or give me a good recommendation, I’d appreciate it.
Ninja Edit: This will be with Cingular/AT+T, I have Alltel and I am switching over in August when my contract expires.
Simple. Phones are not meant to hold files or play music as a main function. Even if the phone is marketed that way. When you start to clog the memeory of a phone with media files it starts to have problems. (random freezes, sometimes require hard resets, etc.)
Half the calls I get about phones like the nokia 5300 are caused by people trying to use them as mp3 players.
Thanks for the heads up. I’ll have to keep that in mind if I ever get a phone that is supposed to be an MP3 player, too.
is there anyway to save a message form voicemail to your computer?
Best MP3 playing phone I’ve seen right now at AT&T is the Samsung A707, aka the Sync. It’s got a dope ass camera, touch mp3 controls that only work when the mp3 is on (the chocolate is the reason for this), the sound quality is good and I haven’t heard of any reception issues.
My friend got some phone from china and somehow got it unlock apparently the company is trying to compete with Nokia. I’m wondering if anyone know the name of this phone It about the size of most nokia phone it is touchscreen i forgot how much megapixel it was but it was pretty damn near a good camera. The price would be just about the same as the Iphone
currently in the market fora new bluetooth earpiece…
so far i’ve had a motorola hs something and i didnt like it (bad experiences with motorola phones and earpieces made me not trust anything motorola)
had the plantronics voyager 510 and that was by far either the best or second best earpiece i’ve used but unfortunately i lost it somewhere
and my last earpiece was the samsung wep 170 one of the best i’ve had because the earpiece lasted 12 hours before needing to charge. The only thing i didnt like is that the rubber for the ear part could come out easily and the part that wraps around the ear can break easily even in your pockets both of which has happened to me.
whats a good earpiece that i should check out? i got the LG Voyager with Verizon Wireless
I need help bigtime. I’ve always been cursed with cellphone rececption at home. I’ve used Cingular, Verizon and Helio and all I’ve ever got is bad rececption in my room vs. everyone else having kick ass bars outside of mine. My question is, what’s a good booster that works? I’m not looking to drop 300+ for a repeater but an external antenna would be cool.

I’d recommend the:
BlueAnt Z9 (small tiny headset with voice isolation)
Jabra Jawbone (rather big headset with noise cancellation)
Samsung WEP-200 (tiny headset at a really affordable price but low battery life)
The WEP-200 and Z9 are tiny enough to just pop into your ear without the need for the ear loop.
what would you guys recommend as the best AT&T smartphone? i’ve never had one before, but i’m going to get one in a couple months. is having/not having wifi not as big of an issue as i think? it’d be extremely convenient, esp. if it doesn’t coincide with any network charges
Q9 or the Blackberry series
don’t get anything else, they are either pain in the ass to use to buggy as hell
wifi is really not important, unless you are inclined to use your phone extensively. Wifi drains your battery way faster, even more so with Bluetooh turned on. So just be aware of that
