anybody know anything about the motorola mike i885, hackin/ringtone stuff
Hey guys, I got a question maybe someone can help with.
I’m not really sure how the problem arose, I just kind of noticed it the other day.
I have a Motorola Razr, not sure which generation, but if you tell me where to get the info I can tell you. The problem is that the battery covery on the back is like loose or something. The battery itself clicks in fine, but the cover is kind of loose at the top near the hinge of the phone. The bottom of it slides into place and I push down, but it doesn’t click/lock into place near the hinge.
Anyone have any similar problems or work w/ phones and know how to correct it? Should I just get some tape or will motorola send me a new backpiece free of charge or could it possibly be the phone casing itself and the panel is fine? It’s really aggrivating, the phone works fine but I’d like to not have to treat it like a fucking baby so the back doesn’t pop off.
I am currently enlisted to go into the Air Force [my schedules departure for basic training is August 1st]. I have a few concerns that even my recruited couldn’t find the answers for.
1.) What should I do about a cell-phone if I were to go overseas? Should I get a contract while I’m in the states, or should I get one from a random provider in another country?
2.) Would Skype be a good alternative if I’m overseas?
3.) What are some good ways to train if fighters while I’m overseas? [I’m sure that there are a few “good” fighting game players out there, but just in case I can’t find any, how would I better myself for Evo2K8?]
I’m hoping that I’m stationed in Japan, which would make my life a lot more fun. That way, i could look for a Japan thread here and use the advice from there. Thanks!
can any bluetooth savvy people fill me in on what exactly is obex and opp? im from verizon so they pretty much cripple out most of the bluetooth features on the phone
im lookin 2 upgrade from the lg vx 8100, to either the 8600 or wait for something newer to come out…now on the recently released 8700 you can send pictures, videos and sound via bluetooth to phones now, i was wondering is this shit possible on the lg vx 8600? anybody wit this phone know if this is possible?
Anyone know anything about the supposed Sidekick Slide? http://crave.cnet.com/8301-1_105-9742038-1.html
okay, so I just got hip to Sony Ericsson cell phones. I love their designs, however, how do I sign up to get service? I’d like to ditch sprint so I can use the phone. Their phones are too awesome.
Just got the I-Phone a couple of days ago, that shit is tight the screen has good quality, Internet is alittle sluggish though and the video quality for youtube on there is pure shit compared to the videos you download for your ipod part. I purchased the 8 mb one for two reasons one I was gonna buy an ipod anyway since I lost my first one on the damn bus the second reason was because texting people is so much easier on there.
The plans for the I-Phone are basically all the same so I went for the cheapest one because I still have rollover mins so If I ever go over that would cover it though and 200 text messages per month is not alot.
I left my cell phone in my dads car and I know I’ll get it in the morning, but the night without my cell is tearing me the fuck up inside.
Just thought I would share it.
Is there any way to get out of a contract w/o paying the termination fee? I’m currently with Alltel and about 90% of the time I’m at home I can expect a dropped call within 2 minutes of any call I recieve. So fuck them, I’m tired of it. I also have a Razr V3c which is not a very good phone, but it was free with the contract. When my contract ends in November I’m just gonna get it flashed to Cricket, hell if im gonna get shit service, :sad:I may as well pay as little for it as possible.
I kinda doubt it that’s the thing with these cell phone contracts each has a crazy amount that you have pay in order to get out of it, I think with AT&T you have pay 175 just to be released from your contract I think Sprint and all those other contracts are built the same way. Hope this helps.
Only way I can think is that you would have to move where Alltell has no service and that you would have to show proof that you are now a resident in that state and living in that state.
what’s the smallest phone verizon has available? i’m tired of this giant 9800 bulging out of my jeans.
Ok then new question. Since it seems like i’m stuck with Alltel until my contract is up, is it possible to get a different phone without having to pay the full price. Basically because i’m getting all these damn dropped calls and they aren’t sure if its them or me (also still within the year warranty) they may just replace my phone. The question is can i just pay the difference, if there is any and get a different phone?
Rzr’s are crap.
Naw, just alltels service. Razrs usually don’t have much service issues. It’s a fairly young company, so thier network coverage is sort of weak. Your options are to:
a. wait it out until they increase thier coverage.
b. pay the termination fee and switch services.
or c.
Whine to them and get free stuff. (possibly)
Sidekicks usually have shitty manufacturing quality. The fact that it’s made by moto and gets rid of that stupid swivel screen may mean it’ll be better this time though.
Oh, and I work for asurion. I can answer alot of questions.
I’m thinking of getting the T-Mobile Dash.
My friends tell me that I should get the sidekick instead because it’s “better”.
I personally dislike the sidekick, but I AIM a lot.
So, if I can have some of your opinions to help me out,
I’d appreciate it.
Get the dash. I get far less complains about that.
Plus, the sidekick is a pop icon. There’s nothing it does that other high end model phones don’t. If any of your friends give you shit for your choice, show them this.
The biggest draw back is that you might need a SD card. If you like, use your phone as a MP3 player. (which is never a good idea, but if it’s your thing…)
Yes!!!
Thanx!
Once I set my eyes on the Dash,
I just wanted to get it!!!
dash is gdlk.
here is what i have on mine:
google maps
outlook sync
avant go (offline browsing. canadian data rates are shitty and no ul option)
pdf reader (ebooks)
tcpmp (divx episodes/movies)
genesis emulator
final burn (couldn’t get it to work)
nes emulator
bt crawler (bluejacking)
dash weather
windows live messenger beta
stop watch
webcamera (to use as a cam)
wmIRC (irc )
wordpad
usb storage
office 2k6 (going to put this on soon)
as mentioned Canada sucks for data options. Those with t-mobile data unlimited can hook up with sirius satellite radio. Portable sat radio is something I’ve been dreaming of for the last couple of years, I’m envy you guys can do it.
with 2gb of transflash you should have enough space to last you a day of travelling with music / movies (provided you reencode (it’s a simple process)
get any type of hard case immediately, because smartphones and ppcs are fragile.
**there are options for aim and other im protocols. There are different clients out there that you have to pay for, but you can always warez em out.
it’s possible your carrier may have an upgrade option available where they will be able to offer you a phone at a discount. Usually this involves reupping your contract term, so I don’t know if it’s worth it for you.
The razr does have a very buggy firmware esp the v1s. This is what i hear from my friends who have them.
Why is that not a good idea? I don’t even have a phone that can play MP3s, but I’m just curious.
