Anyone using a Blackberry Curve 8330?
Bumping this up.
Does anyone have the LG Xenon? I’m asking because the phone actually never got released in Canada (only the LG neon did =/) and I wanted to see if anyone has hands on experience with it. Also, if there’s anyone in the industry, will the Xenon get released in Canada EVER? I know this is a long shot, but it’s worth a try haha.
Thanks!
No but I use a Curve 8900…
i have a mint htc fuze if anybody wants to swap for a comparable phone.
this thing is pissing me off.
i hate winmo.
D:
I used to work for AT&T, and I also have their services.
So I’m at an impasse on whether or not I should get my friend’s Blackberry Storm.
He’s offering it for $150 in excellent condition with the plastic still on there. Getting it unlocked won’t be a problem but I’m on AT&T and won’t be 3G compatible. Also some reviews state that the interface is sluggish and sound quality isn’t all that great either.
How comparable is EV-DO to 3G? I’ll mostly browse text pages and YouTube isn’t a priority; already have unlimited text and data on the current plan so this should be able to better utilize it from a w580i. This also happens to be the first touchscreen I like thanks to the selection confirmation and got the hang of it immediately.
Should I pull the trigger on it? If the connectivity is good enough to load up text pages in a heartbeat I’ll seriously consider it.
As a Blackberry user myself (8900) I am on crackberry a lot and there really a lot of mix views on the Storm. It seems to be inferior to the Iphone. Has a lot of bugs and kinks that need to be solve. The blackberry 9360 suppose to drop soon if you are looking into Blackberries. It suppose to be a mix of the Bold and the 8900 which is really good.
What kind of bugs are we talking about? Besides texting and browsing I’m not going to do anything special with ti.
Kinda hard to beat the price he gave me still.
I think for the price you are getting it worth it but for full price it not worth it. It like a inferior version of the Iphone. (and I am a blackerry >apple kind of guy.)
From what I heard random crashes/reboots. MMS not working, the light from the screen is leaked through in the back from one of the button, battery life is okay even if you upgrade to the newest OS. OS is buggy like slow unlocking and things of that nature.
Once again I highly recommend getting a blackberry, it isn’t called a crackberry for nothing. I post on SRK with my fucking blackberry for christ sake but the Storm isn’t the best blackberry IMO. It was the first ever touch screen blackberry so it isn’t exactly their best work. I think RIM would get it one their 2nd try though.
If you can tell me how much of a difference I’ll see using EDGE vs. 3G it might just seal the deal for me.
EDGE is NOT BAD AT ALL. EDGE probably load a page about 3-5 edge might be 5-8 seconds (there a couple seconds difference between EDGE and edge well for me at least seconds slower then 3G. I am currently using the 8900 WHICH DOES NOT HAVE 3G. So I either use EDGE or Wifi. (depending on where I am at) I use to have the G1 and I really don’t see much of a difference. The only thing I miss from my G1 is the youtube quality was better. I am still able to watch youtube with EDGE connection but the blackberry quality sucks for that. As for viewing webpage such as SRK or any other forums EDGE is pretty good.
Kind of drunk right now so hopefully you understood what I said. :nunchuck:
In a nut shell if you are in a good area with EDGE I see no difference from 3G. However if you are in a bad area and is stuck on edge or gprs then it might be a little slower then expected. However if the phone has Wifi then the speed should be up to par with 3G.
Deal is sealed then.
Now it’s time to gank a Verizon rep for an unlock code.
how are you gonna use the phone on at&t without a sim card?
It’s on a SIM card slot that can be unlocked and from what’s gathered Verizon is fairly lenient with the unlock codes.
Since your on Verizon rumor has it that the 9630 is going to drop on 07/13/09.
HTC Touch…anyone?
Pics of Storm 2 leaked.
I got a question…
SO i got this sim card from my uncle…Im part of his family plan…so Im using my old 4 year old phone and I want to upgrade…Can I just buy a phone from the att store?? or do I have to ask my uncle to do something?
Yes you can just buy a phone at full price stick in your SIM card and you be good to go. If you want a discount on the phone (who wouldn’t) they (AT&T) probably will ask you to renew the contract. Since you are under your uncle’s plan you probably can’t make that decision now can you?
What the hell is 3G? It’s advertised all over but they don’t bother to even tell you what it really is and why it’s better.
