nokia has a few dope phones out but i dont think youre going to find ipod quality mp3 players in a cell phone
id recommend checking out the nokia 5300 xpressmusic (budget), nokia n73 music edition if you can find it, and a few of the higher end sony ericsson phones.
You have a Verizon phone, so I’ll give you some info on that…
Steps:
Download The App You Wish To Hack To Get For Free
Download the Subscription Of That App
Connect The Phone to Computer Via USB Cable Or Bluetooth
Open The Filesystem
Navigate To the Brew Folder
Right Click Brew and Select Backup Entire Tree (Save as .zip)
Restart Phone
Go To The App On The Phone And Cancel Subscription
Reconnect Phone To Computer And Reopen Bitpim
Navigate To Brew Folder Again
Right Click On Brew Select Restore
Find the .zip file on your computer and open it
Select all the folders within the zip( A window will pop=up and make sure all the files have a check mark next to them)
After the files are written to the phone Restart Phone And You Will Se The App There And It Will Be Unlimited
Now, all you’ve paid for is the super low subscription price, and you have it forever, and never have to pay for it. With the 9900, you can do it with the GPS service, which is REALLY nice, since it’s normally something like $12 per month or whatever.
as far as MP3 phones… on Verizon? You’re fucked? lol
on Verizon, as far as I can see, the best ones are…
the one that you have.
the chocolate… great mp3 capabilities, fails as a phone
Samsung a930. Old school, but still great
the enV is nice, but it’s not as loud as the V.
If you were to switch to Cingular, the Sony Ericsson and Nokias are nice…
The Nokia 5300, as mentioned is great. I tend to like SE better though…
^^ My new favorite
^^ My buddy kyle has this phone. Umm… yeah, it’s awesome
I hear the slvr is decent on verizon… but i’ve only used the q, razr, rokr, and krzr. i’ve never seen a slvr outside of a phone store to be 100% honest.
verizon has the best service, IMO for the money… Cingular has the best phones, because they let the manufacturer do it…
I spoke to a VZW rep about the “Verizon interface”… She told me that when the regular customers go from a Motorola, to an LG, to a Nokia, to a Kyocera, etc… The interface is always the same, and there’s no learning curve. My opinion on that is the people that aren’t good enough to learn a new interface, typically wont use anything other than contacts, send/end, and POSSIBLY the camera, so there’s no real point in doing that.
i just mean the media players. i wish it was seamless. i dont mind the interface too much but id rather be able to customize shit. imo phones should be left to manufacturers mostly. im done with branding
they have the best reception in the northeast at least
kinda my gripe with the env… it’s gay that i can’t keep the cooler looking menu from the communicator theme, and the colors from the verizon theme… it’s stupid, since the phone can literally do everything else, i don’t see why it can’t have a simple customization like the a930, or another really old phone.
you see those people walking around with the wireless headsets? well, that’s bluetooth. if you can do that, then you have bluetooth.if you have bluetooth, you can get a USB adapter and transfer files from your phone to your computer and visa versa, wirelessly, and anybody with a BT phone can do with your computer too. your computer can basically become a conglomeration of cellphone files. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth
anyone have blackberry pearl. i currently use a $20 cell phone. Real old. I am going to spend alot on my next phone when my contract is up in april. my aunt has the pearl and it freezes alot i wonder if it’s just her phone or most blackberry pearls freeze. I don’t want to get the iphone either cuz i have ipod already.
what are the nicest phones around 200 bucks? (I can’t pay more than that for a cell phone) I Have T-mobile BTW.
Uses SIM cards
Custome (my own) MP3/WMA ringtones with out too much hassel
Good battery/Good signal
My friend just goes into a folder system on his Phone and right clicks on a song and just sets it as a ringtone. I don’t know the cheapest phone that can that…:wonder:
check the sony ericcson. i’m not sure if they’re on tmobile, but they’re really incredible phones. i don’t know much about tmobile… more of a verizon / cingular guy
I have the same phone through Verison and bought the tool kit but wasn’t able to get most of it to work. I can store and import my phone bok but that’s it. I called Motorola’s customer service and they walked us through the whole setup and install, but we couldn’t get the phone to sync up to upload/download any images or sounds. Now I’m forced to use Verison’s service to do so but it costs me evertytime. It bothers me but it’s stil better service that fucking Cingular.
Right now, my phone plays the FFVIII winning battle theme on normal calls (unoriginal, I know), and when the ex-wife calls, Godzilla screams his telltale battle call. It gets lots of laughs everytime.
Got a question for you guys, if I were to buy a Sidekick 3 from ebay, how would I go about using it as a prepaid phone (I know they have a prepaid plan for it). I’d only use it for texting, email and the web, so would I just have to take it in to a T-Mobile place and they’d set it up for me? I don’t have a sim card since my other provider is Verizon.
