The enV, despite a few flaws is one of the best non-pda phones i’ve ever used
the 8600 (LG RAZR) is one of the best flip phones i’ve ever used (except to the samsung a930, speaking of Samsung, the Blackjack is a monster)
the VX5300 is one of the best absolute basic camera phones i’ve ever used…
To me, they designed an MP3 player with a phone inside it. Things I don’t like about it are the touch pad… I got big cheeks, so my face cancels my calls. Second, I don’t think it feels comfortable on my ear. Third, the battery life sucks balls… My mom recharges hers twice per day.
Anyone know any programs to send convert mp3 --> ringtone --> send to phone?
I had ringtone chopshop but it doesn’t work anymore with my sprint. I have no idea what other programs there are. I found a couple that convert mp3 to ringtone but I need one that sends it to my phone as well. Any help is appreciated.
anyone know estimated cost of the iphone? my cingular plan is up and i was thinking of renewing and copping the iphone, even though i know apples first gen track record isn’t so good.
There’s these two rubber bars next to the screen… they get scratced up REALLY badly.
The email button is gay. The email service through verizon costs $20 per month, so if you don’t use it, it’s a wasted button. They USED to have a function button there, that was used like an alternate menu.
The outter screen is VERY small… VERY fucking small.
the 2.0 MP pixels that the camera has… is really nice… but sometimes tends to be grainy, depending on the light.
the clear button on the front is right next to down, so when scrolling through your contacts list, you sometimes hit clear and cancel out of your contacts list…
The sound isn’t as loud as the vx9800
on the UPside, however…
The sound is GREAT in terms of quality. It’s much clearer
It’s VERY slim for what it does
the processor is better, so if you’re gaming on it, it’s incredible.
the camera’s color quality is top notch
the gps can be hacked and you get it for free (download it, copy to your computer, cancel subscription, copy back onto the phone)
the voice recognition to voice dial and whatnot is better than all the other LG phones i’ve ever used.
you CAN play mp3 files, despite what some reviews say. Thing is, you have to rename all of your files to remove any spaces and apostrophes / dashes / etc… or it wont read the song right.
I have Sprint, too… and my service sucks, too. I think it’s official that at least in PA, Sprint is garbage. I have no clue what provider I’m going to switch to, though. I don’t use my phone all that much and T-Mobile would be able to give me the most inexpensive plan, but I keep hearing people bitch about their coverage. The coverage map claims that they have coverage both in the city and out where my actual house is, but so did Sprint’s map…
…which is too much for an iPod with phone features, if you ask me. Go for one of the existing smartphones that can do more, better, and cheaper, unless you really want it as a status symbol.
Anybody have any experience with the motorola E6 ROKR? I I just ordered one out of impulse… from what I’ve read it seems pretty ok… don’t know if it’s out in the US yet, I imported because I didn’t see any phones I liked on the tmobile website. I just wanted something to hold me over until iphone is out and I can read some reviews about it…
except, there’s no wifi, and the screen’s kinda small for a stylus use…
i only played with it for an hour or so… but yeah… that’s the general synopsis i got from it. the camera has no flash. i think the memory’s 8MB… not sure… might be 16. I forget now…
Overall, I’d give it a 7.5/10
My phone is the LG EnV. When I got it, I gave that one a 7, now, after figuring out how to hack it and get free apps, I give it a 9. So If you’ve ever dealt with that phone, that’s the scale at which I rate it at. 2MP cameras always rock. The EnV has a flash, but it’s a sucky one.
It has a lot of features, but the memory is really low… upgrade ftw! i think out of the box, that’s it’s only flaw.
