Good time to open up a thread like this. I just got this phone last week, the Sony Ericsson Z710i:
Would you guys say it’s a good phone, or should I go for something else? This is my first phone, so I’m kinda of a noob when it comes to mobile phones.
So i’m gonna get a phone from my friend in japan. He’s not 100% sure what model it is but its somewhere along the lines of a Sharp Vodafone (maybe SH-501..so he claims) or something. The problem with it is though, the battery doesnt even work, but i donno where i can buy that kind of battery. It may be the charger as well… Also, since its an outside phone from JP, is there anyway to make it work in the US? Any help is appreciated.
the pic of the phone: not very good pic, small and cant really tell much:
Oh yeah one more thing:
Pryde said that if you go to a store they can transfer all your shit from old to new phone. My old phone’s screen kinda died. I would like my old shit from there(pics, #, etc) onto my new phone. still do-able?
My shitty 2 year Sprint plan is almost over (I have lived in 3 different places, have yet to actually get steady service in any of my homes, random outside yeah but not otherwise).
I’ve been out of the game for a while, is prepaid gonna fuck me in the ass more than a contract? I dunno which I feel like going for atm.
http://www.howardforums.com <----- has everything you want to know about cell phones. That website even helped me get a great deal at tmobile. 1000 minutes anytime, unlimited night and weekends for 39.99. It’s a grandfather plan now and nothing beats it right now for that price…
It depends on how many minutes you think you are gonna talk. If you are using a cell phone for more like emergencies–id say go pre pay but if you know that you are gonna call people and a lot of people you know are gonna call you–then contract is gonna be cheaper.
And the iphone is crazy! all my co-workers @ tmobile were like yo lets all apply for jobs at cingular…lol!!!
Okay, so it costs an extra $20 a month for Sidekick service right? Couldn’t I just buy a Sidekick, put my sim card in and just pay $6 a month for T-zones? What else does a Sidekick do that t-zones doesn’t and… just explain how it works plz~! Thanks.
I was with Verizon for about 4-5 years and then on Sprint for over a year. Both of these companies were the most expenisve in terms of plans. I’m currently with Tmobile now and have the dash (excaliber). It’s hands down the best phone I’ve had…I use to have the treo650, vx6700, nsammyi730, e815…etc…I think some people complain about tmobile’s reception but I’ve never had a problem with the dash Plus, the myfave’s plan is unstoppable. I could care less about who is on verizon or their fucking network or insane prices. It’s funny how many people try to leave verizon all the time when they add new text prices and other little minute things…goes to show that people would rather spend less and still have the same good reception on gsm networks such as cing and t…
recently switch from verizon to sprint. Sprint has a better plan, with nights starting at 7pm instead of 9 and mobile to mobile calling, both free included in the plan. I’ve got the LG Fusic which is really nice > made my own ringtones and have tons of mp3s stored on it
It’s alright, but it’s got weird problems. The keypad on the front of the slider is heat sensative which causes really strange problems. Like if you have it in your pocket, the buttons will activate because of the heat from your leg if you sit down.
No, because if that was the case then the service would cost 6 instead of twenty. It’s the same way with Cingular. The sidekick has to be partitioned for data services and Tzones are not data services. Tzones isn’t designed to surf the net, nor is it designed for you to recieve and reply to email.
if you want a sidekick and hardly use minutes, then I suggest getting the sidekick 3 prepaid. Its only 1 buck a day for data/internet/aim etc. Then if you buy 100 bucks prepaid refill card which you can probably get for a little less on ebay or something, that will give you 1000 minutes with no expiration over a year which should last you that much since you say you hardly talk on it. Later on when you do “refill again” you’ll get 15% more minutes.
