I wasn’t aware that there were carriers out there not requiring a BB data bundle.
Besides Sprint, which is so cheap to do web on anyway and doesn’t require a smartphone data bundle to use a BB.

While we’re at it, does any Windows Mobile user know of a way to get Gtalk onto our phones?
Any of you Verizon peeps pick up the Droid today? Kinda want to hear SRK members’ responses to it.
This could work:
So I just took a bunch of notes on my phone using MS Word Mobile (included for free). I really like its ease of use, versatility, portability, and that it saves the file as a .docx, so I can just open it in Word elsewhere.
Thinking about getting an Iphone 3GS since I get a discount on my bill from work, and on hardware but the only thing that has ever stopped me from getting it is that I drop my phone aleast 1-3 times a month… (Not sure if its because I know I have a really old nokia [its strong as shit! ive dropped it like a billion times no issues] or because im wasted and forget the phone is on my lap… or maybe both…)
Well I also considered the g1 (yeah switching carriers , I have no contract right now… but kills the att discount advantage) because it looks sturdier… I dunno, what do you guys suggest ? (seems like some people in here know their stuff)
p.s. I know there is protection shells and all that for the Iphone but never really tried it out… I mean will it stand full impact rock bottom to the pavement…? I’ll go check some stuff online also…
Does anybody have the Android? If so, can you give me a run down on what it’s like?
man fucking tmobile wouldn’t sell me a black berry 9700 although the release is on monday.
phone is really nice im pretty psyched.
I use fring.
Since phones now has lilke 32 gig of space, has anyone put music on there phone tried to plug it to there car to play music? I dont feel like getting an Itouch if this is possible lol.
I couldn’t get Fring to work, but I found this other app called Slick. It’s kind of unstable, but it gets the job done.
I have a Samsung Eternity. Not too happy with it… the calibration is straight up HORRENDOUS.
use Palringo
it lets u do AIM, Yahoo, Facebook Chats, Gtalk, MSN and more
facebook chat is currently acting up at the moment when the new palringo update gets released im sure it’ll be fixed.
Basically with palringo u can set it up to launch the program in the background everytime u turn ur phone on so whenever you turn ur phone on ur automatically signed into aim, facebook, yahoo g talk or whatever u want to use. its great, very stable and not a memory hog.
I played around with the Motorola Droid on Verizon its a nice phone, but i already have the touch pro 2 and im not to fond of the whole android platform. But the droid does have a very responsive touch screen and a good app store. My major complaint is that the physical qwerty sucks the keys are too close together and are all in like a grid so the typing doesnt feel as smooth as it does on my HTC Touch Pro 2
if its your first venture into the smartphone world i’d give it a try, otherwise if u tried a winmo phone before i’d recommend sticking with winmo
also…Sep what winmo phone do u have? (and anybody else in here for that matter)
did u guys install the new Windows Marketplace on your phones so you can check out the latest new free and paid apps? its sort of their way of competing with the Blackberry app store, iphones app store, and the android stores on those platforms
I have the hTC Imagio. Windows Marketplace came with it, along with MS Office Mobile (which is too good), Adobe Acrobat, and a bunch of other apps.
The only thing I’m missing that the Droid can do is free turn-by-turn navigation, since I still have to use VZ Navigator (and fuck that).
Thanks for the palringo tip.
ok cool, i have the HTC Touch Pro 2 and my girlfriend has the HTC Imagio so any tips and tricks hit me up i got all kinds of apps and shit for the phones. jus run me a email or something if u need anything or got any questions. I have a app to soft reset the phone because u know u have to take the battery cover off of the phone to soft reset it, and i jus found a fix to turn the screen off while playing music through the phone speakers but u need anythign let me know
EDIT: also check this out for free turn by turn gps navigation

Awesome. Thanks.
also if anybody else has a winmo phone in here u can get the Marketplace cab so u can get all the newest apps and shit also dont forget to check the gps app i just edited into my post sep
I’m considering picking up the HTC Hero next week and I’m wondering, has this been fixed?
Also, anyone have any reviews of the phone or any opinions they could share? I’m not looking for an iPhone killer, as I have one as well, I just want a good smart phone with a capacitive sensing touchscreen.
Anyone?
the blog says there’s a fix for the sms but i try to update firmware and it doesn’t recognize it
best buy has it for $99 now so good time to jump on it
quick question.
