That’s really odd
OK I’ll update the first post with locations to grind EXP and other tidbits.

i agree one of the best games of the year. im on chapter 6-3. i was shocked how some chapter are really short.
^Yeah, if a reviewer commented on how some stages took them more than 30 mins to beat, then they’re more than likely doing something wrong- The puzzles aren’t even that hard, and if there was a maze like stage, its shorter than you think.
Of course this is excluding losing a lot in battles, but even then you’d have to have figured out enemy patterns @_@.
I usually start most games on hard. just wanted to make sure it wasn’t suicide. lol
Shadowhaxor now has the OST- GO GO GO!
I’ve only had one issue so far in frame rate for the 360 version, when you fight the Gremlins and the blue fire stuff keeps popping up. So far I’m on Act V, Chapter III so maybe I am still to early to hit any noticeable problems.
Picked up this game yesterday and I’m enjoying it so far. I started on normal but it’s too easy (I’ve beat DMC3-4 on DMD, Bayo on NSIC and Ninja Gaiden 2 on Mentor). I’m going to have to switch to hard since the only reason I’ve died is from falling.
The only reason I die is because Block is L2. I keep hitting “X” for block…
Anyone else feel that launching/air combos leave you completely vulnerable to damage? I almost always regret taking the fight to the air.
Limit air combo against monster that have decent AA, stomp works too (in air L2+X), or R2 for a flying kick or air grab, shadow magic empowered flying kick stuns most stuff. For safer landing against lots of smaller mobs try ‘in air hold Triangle’.
Also pick your launcher carefully, Square->X, Triangle->X, Hold L2+X each have their own use and priority, also there are moves that relaunches, for example upgraded ‘in air hold X’, ‘in air hold L2+triangle’.
Air combos are like higher risk than ground but generally more damage.
P.S. Sorry can’t remember the name of the moves.
Also air combo is fun and fancy once you get the hang of it, you can do something like:
Ground combo, launch, a couple hits, air grab, straight punch, Hold square all the way-> relaunch, do a dash combo for a fancy finish! Be creative!
yea i was shaking my head when i heard that some reviewers said that the puzzles in game were hard…:
r.c if your having trouble in some the battles use tinkerbell…
Without spoilers, can someone tell me if some classic Castlevania tunes (specifically Super Castlevania 4, other than the theme in the trailer) are present? I’m really missing not being able to play this game over the weekend.
Dr. B is awesome, but not more awesome than Room of Close Associates. Sorry, B.
Just finished chapter 1 a few nights ago. Looks like Mercury Steam finally stepped their game up after they fucked up Clive Barker’s Jericho. The best 3D Castlevania ever. I started out on Knight difficulty and it’s not as hard as I thought.
I have not beaten the game, but I’m hearing that there are only a few classic songs. Apparently, Vampire Killer is the only full classic song; while Simon’s Theme, Beginning, and Waterfalls are sampled.
do the trials for each stage give you anything?
Picked up the game yesterday. Game reminds me more of Uncharted than God of War for some reason.
Completing Trials will give you 100% completion for that stage. If you’ve beaten a stage collecting all items, you will always get 76%, the remaining 24 is gained by completing the trial.
Added more info to the first post. I’m halfway through Chapter 8 now.
I can feel a bit of Onimusha in the game too. Absorbing orbs with a button press instead of walking over them and how parrying and counter attacking earns you more orbs similar to how landing criticals in Oni netted you more souls.
For those playing on PS3 I’m reading about how there’s a chance the save file may get corrupted so make sure you back up your save game regularly.
I’ve had it since release date and have only played a little bit. Don’t have time. Which sucks.
