@RoninChaos- Yeah I started playing on Hard and still am; I never changed the difficulty. You just need to be careful and smart when in battles and everything will work out fine.
I started out on hard and am almost done with Chapter 2.
No regrets here. Great purchase.
Only bad thing I can say is that I fell through the world like 10 minutes in… lol
-Edit-
If things get really rough, I usually grab a small add to slow things down since you can’t be attacked while doing so.
Planning to start on Hard too, since that’s SRK’s default difficulty, haha.
Yeah, but I keep dieing. Haha.
I’m in the final part of Chapter 5 and got a new sub-weapon
Holy Water is High Tier shit yo! Can’t wait to get upgrades for it X3
Also, I got the trophy for collecting around 20k EXP xD
Tizoc, any place you’d suggest for farming? Some of the magic+weapons combinations seem too sexy to pass up.
Yes, very enjoyable too. Hard(Knight) is a well tuned difficultly imo.
Yeah the knight is easy, I killed him without light magic without any problem, I am talking about the Lycan king, I think I got the chapter number wrong?
Hmm, I’d say Chapter 5-2
]In the area where you first fight the ghouls just let them keep coming out and kill them. They each give off 50 EXP, and respawn 4 at a time. So 4*50= 200, unless Zobek kills one of them, but you can kill them quickly by grabbing them ;3. Fortunately there is an Orb statue within the area that you can use to recharge your Dark and Light relics if you need them. It might not be the fastest, but it is the easiest[/spoiler
[details=Spoiler]
Also an interesting observation- When in Chapter 5-2, watch the first cutscene and look CAREFULLY at what Gabriel is wearing. After completing Chapter 5, revisit this stage and watch the cutscene again ;3
@Hiruma- Yeah
is the Lycan King- Beating him without using Light magic is possible but best done when you have A LOT of health and your Dark magic gauge is maxed out. His first form shouldn’t be too hard so long as YOU wait for him to attack, then attack him. His 2nd form is easy except for when he does the ground punch, THAT can be tricky to roll away from because as you keep attacking him with the Standard whip attack you get close to him and you can only avoid taking damage from that attack if you’re away from him a little when you dodge, then immediately jump. Then again…maybe using the L2+Jump technique might make getting around this attack easier?[/details]
EDIT: Sorry for the Chapter number mix-up ^_^;
you need to download castlevania symphony of the night like right now. Or get castlevania dawn of sorrow for DS.
I really haven’t been irked much by the lack of freedom yet for two reasons. One is that all the old games before SotN were like that anyway. Someone already brought up the damn stairways lol. Pitfalls in that game were a BITCH, just be glad you don’t have to deal with that lol.
Second reason is how good the game looks as it is right now. The more freedom you give the player, the more you have to alter the landscape to accommodate this. If you have a lot of free form platforming sections in place of the mostly scripted sequences they have now, they would probably look more plain and drab in order to give the player more clearly outlined visual cues. Or if you left them as they are now (beautiful, is how they look right now) but gave players full freedom of movement, you’d have a lot of frustration and accidental deaths.
Tough act to balance in platforming the way games are built these days, and the way gamers quickly get frustrated and move on. Maybe it could be improved somehow, but it hasn’t ruined the game for me yet.
I went back to Chapter 1. The Bog level, u know where the goblins throw grenades at you and you have to pick them up to throw at the tree? Make sure you have Light Magic before going back so you can stay alive. Just keep killing them without throwing the grenades at the tree.
for farming…wanted to copy the question. sorry.
Got this today. played till mid chapter 2. i like it alot. it’s an old school CV but in 3D. It has levels, a couple of different paths to take (Reminds me of Rondo) and it’s pretty tough even on normal (I wanted to get a feel for how it plays before diving into Hard). The combats fast paced, much faster then GOW. The Subweapons have potential. It really doesn’t remind me of GOW much. More like DMC/Bayonetta arena presentation (Fixed camera at a decent distance away) but with the Ninja Gaiden Black control set up but with additions.
Over all I like it so far.
So it looks like the final version does indeed run like ass. Also it was a lie about no disc swapping on 360 if installed. I guess it’ll have to be a rent because I refuse to support crap developers.
Are you playing the 360 version, or the PS3 version? I got it on PS3, and while the framerate does kinda suck it’s not unplayable or anything.
360 version since I got rid of my ps3. Bad framerates just irk the hell outta me. Maybe I was abused by a bad game as a child
anyone get that “unhandled error” message yet? i’ve come across it twice. once in 5-1 at the neutral orb fountain after catching the chupacabra, and again in 4-1 while fighting the ogre. i googled it and the articles i found say that people have come across this on the ps3, and that the error can erase the game’s save file. backup your save file, ps3 players.
What sucky framerate? I haven’t seen any framerate issues when playing, the game runs smooth @_@ Maybe its your HDTV?
this game is sick man, sick. much props to doing the best 3d castlevania.
im outi
Roberth
Nah, pretty sure it’s the game…it’ll drop like mad at parts. I know it’s not my HDTV because I’ve played a ton of other games on there without the same problem. It’s also my PC monitor, and FFXIV runs smooth as hell.
