I’m waiting for TRU buy 2 get 1 free deal:tup:
Well it’s still going to irk me. The guy makes leaps and bounds as part of normal play in certain points, but then he comes up to one stretch where he has to go work around the world in the opposite direction to get to it. It makes certain points involving the monster mounts kinda pointless too.

Uh, yeah. If most developers actually tried to differentiate, the comparison would be obviously invalid. They don’t. In fact, most blatantly copy whatever X game did, even though X game probably sold because it actually had a decent marketing campaign behind it.
Proper game designers would look at the history of a genre to figure out what makes it tick and where they think it needs to go from there. Since we don’t have many of those, we just get a bunch of hacks who only care to look at what made a lot of money last year to try and copy it. And most of them can’t even do that much right.
Hell yeah, just have to figure out what the other 2 games will be.
Well…the boss of Chapter 4 was umm
disappointing =/ The trial for it tho seems a bit challenging. I think I can do it so long as my attack power is high or I have an attack that does big damage.
Chapter 5 now, and it’s quickly becoming my GotY :lovin:
Funny I managed to beat that boss easily- Make sure you are rotating in a circle. If you did it right, the Titan should fall to its knees, and then you’ll be able to scale and damage it.
Bah, slayed the Titan. Who does a QTE in what looks like a cutscene? LoS. Came outta nowhere.
I’m still in Chapter 1 :-(. Been so busy that by the time I play I can get 45 mins in before falling asleep.
The game is fun but if a sequel comes out of this they REALLY need to work on the camera, platforming, and running. I hate how this game operates and we’ve had fixed camera angle games for years so I don’t get the bs.
- Run through doorway, camera switches, and instead of smoothly being able to roll the analog stick to the new direction the game jerks it up and it feels… jerky.
- Stiff ass grappling hook. Be nice if you could decide how you want to swing/rappel. Needs more freedom.
- Just running around feels weird. That is probably because the game has full 3D environments but you are like in a glass maze with fixed camera angles.
That whole area of the game just feels weird as hell (and in a bad way). Not enough to keep me playing but…
RYGAR DID IT BETTER ON THE PS2.
(And not a single reviewer noticed the similarity between these two games? Man I’m starting to feel like these journalists only covered wars or something ya know. They need to step their history up. Rygar was also gorgeous, used a chained weapon, and swung around. Combat wasn’t as deep though.)
I’ve always wanted to play Rygar on the PS2 =(
It’s a fucking beautiful game. Starts off kinda slow but it’s beautiful and interesting. The Wii got a Wiimake I’m pretty sure.
just beat first lord of shadow, I’m loving the game.
main complaint so far is that the game is sometimes pretty vague on what to do next. its really easy to miss one sparkly item in the background to cue your next piece of the puzzle. combat is fun, but I find myself mostly doing roll, attack, roll when confronted by multiple enemies and saving the fancy parrying mechanic for one on one fights. haven’t had any puzzle frustrations yet.
at what point should I start revisiting levels to uncover previously inaccessable areas? I have a bunch of new abilities I could probably use now.
kinda OT: I feel buyer’s remorse for getting the special edition. I was hoping for a full-size artbook, not just a few pages tacked onto the packaging.
Started the game but it’s early so still on chap 1. I did buy the one area attack, “chain guard” I think it’s called? Hold triangle and move the analog to swing around. Anyways upon seeing the animation I was immediately reminded of Super CV 4 where you could hold the attack button and swing the whip around. That was all the validation I needed to know this was a CV game.
OH, just remembered a bit about slowdown. I had this really really bad bout of slowdown in the underground dungeon where a bunch of flying imp guys were tossing fire at me.
PS3 version.
No you should. Let’s compare LE shall we…
Alan Wake LE (yes I’m talking about the original price)
compared to…
Castlevania Lords of Shadow
Big difference eh?
I got a damn book inside of a book with free DLC with Alan Wake. Not to mention the now standard soundtrack and bonus disc. Yeah, YOU should feel buyer’s remorse. I feel it and I only paid $60
i feel ya bout the vague parts. i think right now be the best time go back track . after i bet beat this game i don’t ever wont see another qte again for long time…
You feel the same way I did after buying the GOW 3 CE(and I saw an unboxing video beforehand, smh). I had pre-ordered the special edition at first, then I saw what the U.K. CE came with, as well as he Japanese CE. I downgraded to the regular edition after that. The straws that broke the camel’s back, so to speak, were the comparisons to New Vegas’ CE, and TFU’s CE. Both $80 and a lot more stuff, so I wasn’t going to make the same mistake again. This CE kind of reminded me of the Demon’s Souls bonus, but at least the book was a strategy guide.
Finished chapter 3 last night, boss fight was great, next step to beat it without light magic!
I personally like that aspect, since it’s like how old games were; you had to find them/figure them out yourself.
You know the trial for Pan’s puzzle? If you read the scroll that explains what to do for that puzzle, scroll down and you will find the EXACT solution you’ll need to finish the trial xD
You might wanna wait til you’ve beaten the game because there are some Arks you won’t be able to get even after beating Chapter 5.
Oh and I didn’t get any slowdown in that area (I’m playing the PS3 ver.), maybe its your TV?
It’s MUCH easier than you think ;3 Just attack, Roll away, when it summons the ink thing, do the L2+Area attack move (I think u need to buy it…) it’ll destroy them immediately.
Did a lot of you guys start out on hard?
