The fact that it’s MUGEN has no bearing on its potential balance whatsoever.
The fact that you have over 20 starting characters and like 90+ assists in the game by people doing it for free in their spare time does.
I mean, there are entire professional development teams with million dollar budgets that have trouble balancing rosters WAAAAAY smaller than that on their first try.
Yep, it seems that it would be a matter of when people will find the infinites/9-1 match ups/etc. My personal somewhat realistic dream is that it wines up being a HnK-type situation.
has this game finally come out?
has it? someone please tall me, this is one of like three actually good mugen games that doesn’t rip from cvs and mvc.
And heck yeah im the biggest chun li fan. she owns, lol.
If you bothered to search beforehand you would have found a rather large thread for this game.
The general opinion was it looked pretty and fun, but the guy would never release it in a playable demo or download and just wants to keep adding shit to it.
Yeah this game has been in development for a long time and it has been posted before. That’s what happens when you cross everything over and make it look good.
I appreciate the hard work they put into this game for so long, but all their hardwork will be ripped off and thrown into everybody’s current MUGEN roster, just like all the other MUGEN works.
Most likely they will not be hit with copyright issues unless they try and make money off the game. This game is in no way possible outside of a fan-made circle, so there is no money lost from it existing.
EDIT: I didn’t realize that Reiji, from Super Robot Taisen OG Saga, was going to be a playable character.
The whole not releasing playable demos angle is what’s killing it for me. They’ve got loads of videos showing it in action and even match videos displaying at least 6 characters. I’ve heard they’re against it because it’ll draw attention and they don’t want to get shut down…though I still can’t understand how you can be shut down from creating a game from the ground up and then not selling it, but I suppose that’s why I’m not a lawyer.
Basically there’s a history of C&D letters being sent to fangames, most notably I believe were all those Chrono Trigger remakes that Square-Enix put the lock on. I suppose it could simply be about protecting properties in general and a company might just be firing on sight of anything that LOOKS like it could be a problem.
