Captain America: The Winter Soldier thread

Something I just remembered…

Spoiler

So the guy who fought Falcon and gets horribly burned after the helicarrier crashes into the building…that guy is gonna become Crossbones, right?

Yes, that was Brock Rumlow (his surname was dropped multiple times in the movie).

If Crossbones is upcoming, maybe Taskmaster soon?

Keep it real but don’t act like Marvel Studios is on par with Fox in terms of fucking up characters cause they surely aren’t. Its obvious they take a little for 616, Ultimates and then put an original spin on certain characters. When you read the Ultimates, QS and Scarlet Witch was never mentioned as being Magneto’s kids until later in an Ultimate X-men/Ultimates crossover issue.

That was even the case in 616. They weren’t IMMEDIATELY introduced as Magneto’s kids, either.

Damn.
Marvel for best comic book movies FREE.

@Wasted Composite characters in a pragmatic/adaptation distillation, dood!
Cut out less relevant aspects of the overall character, and include/re-imagine stuff that is relevant.
That’s how Transformers Prime was fucking gdlk, they took from all of the best, and
made characters who are basically ideally done in that aspect.

Same idea here!

Chris Evans and Captain America growing up

So their biggest inspirations for the action was ‘The Raid’ and ‘Captain America: The Video Game’

Still haven’t seen the movie, but I will see it soon dammit!

Just saw it. Great movie, especially the fight scenes. The shield is overpowered :wgrin:
I liked Mackie and Redford, and all the twists.
ScarJo seemed more comfortable as Widow this time around as well, and of course Evans.
I’d put it with the best Marvel Studios film as a tryptych- Iron Man1 , Avengers, and Cap TWS

As a Cap noobie, who was that Rumlow guy played by Frank Grillo supposed to be?

also re: Alexander Pierce and Winter soldier…

Spoiler

I was almost expecting him to be revealed as Red Skull or Zemo. Also wasnt Bucky experimented on by the Russians in the comic, not Arnim Zola?

No you’re not keeping anything real. You’re just whining like a little bitch.

We get it. You don’t like the movie-verse. Now kindly fuck off and go read a comic book.

I’m on your side, dood

Also yes, Bucky was experimented on by the Soviets in the comics, but introducing the Soviets makes no sense in the MCU. Hydra is the closest equivalent while keeping mostly true to the story.

And there you go. That’s the pragmatic aspect in motion.

Oh shit, it’s out in the theater right in my town. Got snuck up on!
I know what I’m doing today/tomorrow night.

YO MARVELLLLLL

My only complaint:

Spoiler

Wish he would have banged future Peggy Carter FOR GREAT JUSTICE.

Well gonna see it in a few…let’s hope it isn’t as shitty as Thor or ironman were.

So when you do eventually come back here to bitch, expect it to fall on deaf ears.

Anyway, less than 24 hours for me.

I like to have informed opinions therefore it’s necessary for me to see these films.

Pffft haha naw the truth is you actually like them quite a bit but like to hide behind the veil of comic narrative purity.

Yeah, and between that and his join date, it’s almost as if we already knew him… :coffee:

Spoiler

No I was actually being a sick fuck and talking about the grandma

Freedom Prevails, motherfuckers.

And Justice is the victor once more. Gonna see it tomorrow, but you kind of already know; Cap’s got this, but it’ll be tough.

Worth watching it in IMAX 3D? Might peek it tonight.
