Your post just gave me an epiphany. What if FADC had an optional secondary input? Does everyone remember how in the versus series, a super jump could be performed with KKK, and a dash with PPP? I might have it backward, but you get the idea. The same principle could be applied to focus attacks to tip the scale into a bit more balance.
For example, instead of hitting FA fwd, fwd, the secondary input for FA forward dash could be FA+any other punch, HP or LP, and for back dash could be LK or HK. Simple and fair solution to open up options to more characters. Imagine the possibilities, and I would argue that they wouldn’t be any more game breaking than a SRK FADC Metsu, Sagat’s madness, take your pick.

That actually seems like a good ass idea! That would work well for the charge characters since they would be able to keep their charge and be able to combo into ultra!

Not even just for Ultras, that would open up many different windows for them as well. I really think characters like Ryu, Sagat, and especially Viper, Gief, and Akuma are only as good as they are because they have so many options. This would at least add a few to characters like Guile. I’m actually surprised Capcom didn’t think of this in the first place, considering there was a similar command in the vs. series.
