Guile is Still Low-Tier CONFIRMED
This is even more upsetting. Capcom is clearly not listening to us. In this podcast, Keno (boxer player) talks about his experience with SSFIV and mentions Guile as still being low-tier. WTF…at least give him something to make him mid-tier…he’s an original character for goodness sake…
I heard from a friend of Justin Wong’s at CF, dunno how true this is, but they are supposedly giving Guile a knockdown move, like Abel’s uppercut. This is huge speculation and not confirmable but would be awesome so he can combo into ultra after the air knockdown. Ugh…Crapcom really could give 2 shits about Guile. They are beefing up all the new characters and not giving love to Honda, Claw, Guile, etc. Listen to the podcast…
Well, Pete, I just wonder, since Keno only got to spend a limited amount of time with the game, how much of it he would waste on a character he doesn’t care about and never did.
As far as Seth goes, since there hasn’t been a SF game in a decade, that dog doesn’t hunt. If you meant the first decade, then he’s out of practice.
But this isn’t about tier lists and Guile’s place in them. This is about whether Joker switches mains! But seriously, it’s about knee-jerk reactions to knee-jerk statements. Who the fuck cares about theoretical tiers? In fact, “theoretical tiers” is redundant. I don’t care who it was that said what; no one has ever respected Guile in SF4. Remember when Combofiend said there is no Guile in SF4? And then Dagger G beat him so bad he quit playing Viper. So yeah. Let’s wait and see.
Guile was never going to be top tier, but all I expect is for him to be a little less crap.

to be fair, after listening again, it didn’t even sound like keno used guile. he just said that seth told him that he’s low tier. this actually gives me more hope, due to the fact that seth killian’s opinion, although always in good faith, isn’t always on the money.

Keno also said Sagat’s Angry Scar gives him “invinicibility on all of his moves.” That really makes me think that he’s not exactly sure what he’s talking about.

Now the question is should I use Makoto, Dudley, or Cody…hmmmm me think Makoto with a Guile alt will suit very nicely.
It is really a shame. This thread has been up since the game got introduced. All this time waiting and the podcast kinda ruins it for the character.

There are so many inconsistencies in that 10 minute podcast that I wouldn’t take any of it seriously.
Sagat is better than ST Sagat. 2 of the 3S chars are on Sagat’s level. Seth is the best char in the game… huh?

that’s not what they said at all…they said they would rather PLAY as SSF4 Sagat than Super Turbo, I couldn’t tell if he was talking about the Cody group of characters or the 3S ones, and Seth is the best guy in the game…

There is no way anyone can digest all of the changes made in this game in one play session and decide on legit tiers.
Really? I already own several. If you seriously don’t think Seth is the best character in the game then you are sadly mistaken.
