I just don’t think an air Flash Kick fits. I try to spend as little time in the air as possible. Guile is meant to space/pressure with Booms, to force his opponent into eating normals and the occasional Flash Kick (which probably trades).
I don’t get how people keep saying things like “it’s a joke” or “it’s a taunt”. Nakky blog shows Sonic Hurricane being performed with the shades on. Guile’s page on the character info page shows his UDK being performed with shades on. And if the hints from Azrael’s notes indicate anything… How could it NOT be a new move? And how does a sunglasses move/taunt make another Dan? Oh wait, it doesn’t.

I can understand what people are saying about how Guile should only have 2 specials, otherwise he’ll lose his uniqueness/ playstyle.
But it’s not enough against many other characters.
Its up to the developers to keep the integrity of the characters intact, which they have done thus far.
Upside Down Kick could potentially give guile more high low mix, increased arial movement, and maybe even a act as a crossup.
I wonder what the hell those shades are going to do??? I’m all for getting a new special. I guess now the speculation begins about exactly what it does, assuming that he does indeed have a new special.
Ok, guys. I’ve been informed that Guile is getting the glasses because the flash from his Sonic Booms is too bright… So it’s not a special, just a precaution. Thanks Capcom, I definitely didn’t want Guiles to go blind in the middle of a fight.
I’m not too pissed at the current top tier, just take away trade bullshit and they’re more than fine IMO. Yeah, tiger shots are a little ridiculous but w/e, no fighting game is a perfectly balanced vs.
Vanilla’s version of Akuma as tops (and who’s to say he’s not 1B right now anyway?) would’ve be perfect.
yeah thats what it’s always been, but there was a video from that Big SSF4 test day (can’t remember what it was called) where guile does his ultra, and in the video it had a subtitle saying it was DB to start.
Wow you’re pretty serious, i like it. Yea, i wonder what they are going to do about that overhead target combo…seems there’s almost no way to make it viable without making it too good due to either crazy fast recovery on cr mk or crazy fast startup on the actual overhead. Anyone have actual links to videos about sonic hurricane and the thing about the shades? If they go through the effort of putting shades on him i SURE hope they go through the effort of increasing the range of his normals to what they used to be.
The Ultra is definitely B.F.B.f+3P’s In the video of Guile doing his Ultra on the Capmcom Japan site, he is standing when he does the Sonic Hurricane so it’s definitely no DB charge necessary.
Why are you even speculating the input? It means nothing of he’s standing when he performs the ultra since its a charge command that ends in a standing position anyway. Its not like they showed him standing up for a second without moving and then performed it.
Also its still pretty much confirmed that its a charge motion since you actually see the guy inputting db,f,b,f PPP
Anybody else fearing that the sunglasses are going to be like vega’s claw and mask…and that some buffs he gets will require you to be wearing sunglasses…
