JK, first vid of someone using Guile like Guile.

SH seems to recover very fast. Like “good random Ultra against Boxer trying to rush” fast.

So for the people who have been whining for months about how bad Guile will be. How do your words taste. His damage also seems to have increased slightly (not as much as I would have wanted) and his pokes seems faster like cr.MK, and even his df.HK has seem to improved.

It has a really fast startup too…

You really need to chill you haven’t even played the game yet.

Super is a faster game too, so everyone looks sped up normally from SFIV.

The cup is either half empty or half full. It definitely looks a lot fuller than you people were giving it credit for. Guile really doesn’t look that bad.

Does’t matter. His normals clearly don’t lag like they use to, and they all appear to have been given more range/hitboxes. So that’s perfectly find for me. The game may indeed be faster, but the fact of the matter is, it’s definitely not going to be able to react to Guile’s pokes making them much more useful.

The best way to sum this shit up is that Guile is going to be better because he couldn’t be any worse. Being lower on the tier list in a game like SFIV doesn’t really mean much since the matchups are mostly evened out or only one point in advantage/disadvantage. It’s only when you start gravitating towards the top tier do some matchups start getting hopeless for characters. It’s just there wasn’t much reason to use Guile in SFIV other than if you really liked using Guile so hopefully he’ll be more fleshed out in Super.

Super’s tiers needs to be a bit less about just going even or losing to 3 or 4 characters. Which a more fleshed out and powerful character roster across the board should help that.

the SH did pretty good chip dmg as well more than a fierce.

Is anyone else pissed at that vid? That Guile was clearly defending that little corner like it was man’s last hope for salvation and beer.

did anyone else notice that guile seemed to be doing more all round damage? or am i just seeing things? maybe guy has under 1000 hp though?

at least sonic hurricane is 100% safe on block.

edit: cr.mk looks much quicker too.

Yes. Sonic Hurricane safe on block. Even if you can’t combo into it, you might as well just use it if you know the other guy is going to block it. Sure is already a lot more useful than Flash Explosion.

Is it just me…or did standing FP seem to have a smidgen less range in that vid? Sonic Hurricane is looking good too btw, but I wonder what applications it will have. I won’t be using it on wakeup, that’s for sure, but does anyone have any idea on how to set up for it?

I hope that, if you try to jump over SH and hit Guile out of it, the SH just persists and you get hit out of your attempted combo, Yoga Catastrophe style.

i was thinking this too. maybe you could use it when someone is about to j.hk you. if they hit, you take some damage and they get hit with the ultra. if they safe jump, they take the chip damage.

FA crumple > ultra.

That is looking like the only way to guarantee it. It doesn’t look like you’ll be able to combo with it, maybe punish with it. This just looks like an ultra you can throw out because you can type ultra (because its relatively safe).

You know what would be super fun? Ryu jumps in with a hk, you activate Sonic Hurricane, intentionally taking that kick, but Ryu gets caught in the hurricane… Guile is reset out of his animation and is able to charge an EX Flashkick to tag Ryu for extra damage at the end of the hurricane.

lol guile can’t combo into an ultra, but maybe he can combo OUT of one…:karate:
