I agree with you that its not so bad for guile because of his sonic boom but once seth gets in its over for guile. his low stun plays a big factor in this match up.

1.) Seth can’t Ultra through Sonic Booms because they recover too fast. Only EX Sonic Boom.
2.) Seth can’t walljump at Guile unless he FADC a fireball because if he jumps off the wall Guile get a free Air throw
3.) Seth can’t use any teleport Setups because flashkick is free if Seth teleports to any side of him
4.) Guile can close in on Seth with Slow sonic booms and Seth can do nothing about it, once Guile has him cornered Guile has an answer for all of Seth’s options and can lock him down in the corner.
You will never get in on a good Guile player playing Seth. It’s impossible and if Guile has the life lead, it’s game over. You’re not getting in you lose. You’re out of your damn MIND if you think Seth has any kind of advantage over Guile.
You guys really don’t know. Seth doesn’t get in on Guile. It doesn’t happen. He gets stuffed everytime he tries. Also Dive kick is -frames on block and + like nothing on hit. Guile will Flash kick him out of it or FP him before he gets a chance anyway. It’s his worst match up. Ask any Seth player worth a damn. Seth’s worst match ups are Guile, Ryu, and Akuma. Guile is the worst out of all of those.

Akuma’s teleport is annoying though. Finnaly get him cornered and then bam, he’s on the other side of the screen. His fireball game is slightly better than Guiles IMO so that makes the match up kind of tough. Especially since people like to use the spam and escape strategy.
The combo sure gets Style point in my eyes. IF someone does it too me online, I give him props.
Did i play you yesterday? Some seth player said i was soo cheap using Guile and he made complaints like this.
Anyways, i don’t think Guile has many overwhelmingly hopelessly hard matchups, not even sagat really if you’re patient. With characters like viper and seth or maybe even gen, if airthrow works then you’ll win, if it doesn’t you’ll lose, sobat and blocking burning kick crossups shit viper down.
The most hopeless matches i’ve ever had are against patient ryus who actually know how to use their super, otherwise it’s pretty manageable as you can frustrate them quite abit. Thank God most people don’t know how to use the super that well

NINJA EDIT: Also, what exactly makes the seth matchup hard for guile? I mean, i don’t want to take sides on your beef with sleepy zero, but he raised some good points. If you disagree, then why? I mean, i don’t main either character so i don’t know the matchup, but I can play the whole cast decently, and I would like to know why you think the match is in seth’s favor.
Ryu’s super shuts just about everyone down, jump over a fireball > super. Hit confirm into super. punish a whiff with super. match a fireball > super. It’s like having a long range shoryuken that does twice as much damage.
I agree with you on the seth thing as well; he did bring up some decent points. The irony being, the one time a person comes on here and is like “Yo guile’s not bad” who isn’t a guile player, gets shit on. Instantaneous douchebaggery kneejerk response with no actual response to the points he brought up. Because a lot of that is very true–Seth can’t ultra Guile for free nor do his wall jumps help that much.
I don’t know, I mean not even that super is fast enough to go through and punish booms and guile shouldn’t be jumping around that much to be worried about antiair super, and he shouldn’t have super against guile anyway since guile should make ryu lose meter in the fireball wars.
I am a Seth main. I would say Seth’s worst match-ups are Blanka and Viper personally.

On a personal note, I play defensive Seth against Guile.
As a Guile user asking a Seth user…what exactly does a offensive Seth do? Never really met one.
I fought a local guy once, teleport mixups on wakeup, combos into stomps into spiderman shenanigans on the wall. Offensive seth is just all over the place.
