Now all the Guile players can experience what Claw players were doing for a year now - Claw Throw. Oh yeah, get hype :razzy:
Yea, noone but the most seasoned guile player would notice Guiles changes. Almost all of the buffs he needs are slight framedata changes(aside from flashkick recovery) and hitbox changes(mostly extensions)
If someone is strapped for time and they go over a guy like Guile who’s only got two moves, they aren’t going to notice that cr mk starts up a couple frames faster or recovers that way. They won’t notice a 1 frame change to alot of Guiles normals, and i have the feeling he didn’t play against anyone at all so testing flashkick is “meh”.
They specifically mentioned wanting to buff Guiles normals so those are what he’d need to look at, and i’m really curious about the stamina report.
Now to prove this, look what he said about other characters:
Blanka was the same? All other sources say he was faster, and note buffs on normals.
Not sure if vipers thunder knuckle was nerfed? Unable to notice framerate changes, a couple frames of leniency on Guiles normals is HUGE
Feel sorry for Gen, he seemed to know alot more about him.
Yeah, slight changes to Guile’s moves would be huge. cr.lp to cr.mp for example being a 2 frame link would be awesome. I’d be able to hit that shit waaaay more than now. I just combo in st.hp now cause, even after months of practice, I still can’t hit that cr.lp to cr.mp link consistently and I eat huge damage when my cr.mp to FK gets blocked.
I’m wondering if it’s the tweaks to the game like the above that will improve Guile’s ability to be viable for the tourney level players. Perhaps Capcom’s approach in balancing Guile isn’t to directly buff him up too much, but to try and reduce some of the BS that other characters can pull on him. Things like that wouldn’t be quickly discernible.
i take it you haven’t used vegas remove claw move then? seriously that does nothing but hinder you
I just wish that one of the guys on this thread (who knows what he is doing) would actually test the final built of the game and give us feedback.
I agree that things like frame adjustments (invincibility, priority, recovery,… etc) and so are visually less possible to notice especially to a non guile player .
However things like comboing into ultra can actually be tested from non guile players but even so its not out of the question yet, maybe its not in an obvious kind of way like rogs or I would like to think so.
Also @ Smileymike101 ‘’ Flash Kick FADC Put-on-sunglasses.Fuck combos into ultra. That right there is beast. ‘’
I will be doing that dude, Thank you
Another insight
Here is another guys opinion on the final built though he doesn’t mention guile as he has not tested him but his insights are way more better than mr wizards and he mentions how he did not have enough time 4 all the cast .
its a good read guys have a look.
So I was thinking…it’s not just about whatever buffs Guile does or doesn’t receive. A lot depends on the tweaks made to everyone else.
Now Guile won’t move anywhere in the tier list really, up or down, but let’s throw that whole school of thought out the window, because fuck tier lists. What is a tier list? A miserable little pile of opinions! And I would know! But if it’s true that say, Ryu can no longer Ultra off a trade…that’s not so much a buff or a nerf as it is the excising of bullshit that never should have existed in the first place. So the complexion of this match changes a little. And now if Sagat has had some of his ridiculous damage scaled back, the landscape of that match is altered with, again, no discernible buffs to Guile. Now maybe this 7-3 match is still 7-3, but if Guile IS buffed, either in priority of damage, maybe it becomes 6-4?
Even if Guile is transplanted exactly as he is from SF4 to SSF4, he’s not the same because the game around him has changed. But I’m sure he actually will be improved in some small ways, which is fine by me.
Because I’m probably switching to Hakan anyways.
aw damn, you thinking about hopping off the guile train too huh?
Well at least we can put the glasses on before we lose. Lose in style.
Nah, probably not.
After thinking it over guys, I’m not really too concerned about what MrWizard said about Guile. We all know that with Guile, It’s all about the normals, and we’ve heard that these have gotten improved so that alone should make Guile a whole lot better. I can only imagine what I would do with a bigger hit box on my normals. But not only that, there is just no way he had time to test all the stuff out. Does the Bazooka Knee have more range and better recovery? Does is J.LK have a bigger hit box for cross ups? Does his S.RH have better recovery and more range? Is hi NJ.FP have a bigger hit box? These are all things that I need to know before I say that Guile is going to be bad in the next game. And I’ve said this before but I’m maining Guile whether he is good or bad so FTW.
Fuck what you heard, Flash Kick–>FADC–>Shades is the truth!
This may be a loooooooong shot but I remember not to long ago, eventhubs posted some twitter chatter from the Capcom twitter account and someone asked Campcom if they would have a Fight Club for SSF4 like they did in Vegas, only this time have it in Atlanta. The Capcom account just replied “You never know.” I’m not saying that they are going to have one or anything like that but IF THEY DO, I’m going to do my best to make sure I’m there. I wouldn’t even win rounds I’d just be testing shit, real talk. I know there are some other seasoned Guile’s in the Atlanta area too so if they did do the Fight Club we could find out a lot. But that’s just a dream I suppose. lol
I lol’d
At least FK > Sonic Hurricane works. Better than nothing.
link to vid please?
Hey Guile players…how bout DEM SHADES!!! Talking bout DEM OAKLEYS!
It’s super > sonic hurricane. You can super to ultra 1 already. This was reported by Mr. Wizard.
Even though Guile is gone from my handful of characters, I’m hoping maybe Boom recovery and some command normal damage may have been overlooked. Also, FK FADC Shades is pretty hilarious… it’s a damn shame that reports say it does nothing.
Any news on the damage of his sonic boom? It’s a huge contribution to his moveset, yet it still does the smallest damage for a projectile in the game
