I don’t have problems with Guile because he is “basic”, I have problems with his moves not working the way they are supposed to(or at least, used to)… his Flashkick has so little invincibility frames, they don’t even last until the move comes out… other characters at least gain more full invincibility frames by altering the strength of the attack… he has a bunch of anti-low attacks, but they get lower body immunity after the 8th frame… if a Ryu does a cr. mk at the same time, he will completely stuff you by 3 frames… another retarded nerf… Guile’s character designer states in his drawings that Guile has much longer legs then Ryu or Ken… yet, he has pathetic reach on his kicks because they programmed him to kick towards the screen, instead of his opponent… have you ever looked at his nj. HK? I have never seen him kick with his knees bent that much before… his sonic boom gets increased recovery frames for no fucking reason… he doesn’t even get a damage boost like other characters whose recovery frames are altered by strength level… the buffs he gets from using EX version of his moves are minimal, ESPECIALLY in comparison what the other fireball/uppercut characters gain… I mean why they fuck does ex boom has 2 frame start up increase and 8 frame recovery increase? those are identical stats to Ryu’s EX Fireball, and that’s a spammable command move…
I also believe that Sonic Hurricane will be a game changer… I am not phased whatsoever by Mr. Wiz comments… SH can be a “sucky” Ultra in the traditional sense(low damage, non-comboable, less then half screen, etc.), but still be all that Guile needs… as long as: a) the start up is less than 8 frames, b) it has more range then a Flashkick. If those 2 points hold true, then that is all I need… I don’t even care if it has any invincibility frames… if the start up is 6 frames like I am suspecting it to be… i will cry river with my tears of joy… :lol:
I love it when someone jumps-in on Guile, you initiate EX Flash Kick late-as-possible, and they die. But it’s not the hit block on the foot that kills them, it’s the hit-block on Guile’s upper body, the hair. The shiny, gold, fucking hair. You do not touch the hair.
That’s what Flash Kick needs all the time. If you try to cross-up Guile and you touch the hair, you’re getting hit.
Hey guys, I just got off the phone with Guile. He says things are going great in Super Street fighter 4. He kicks Sagat’s ass on a regular basis, and he even has the time to be a family man. He says you can all stop bitching now; he’s really sick of it and is ashamed that his fans are a bunch of whiny babies. He’s been practicing and has really improved his flashkick and most of his other attacks, so you can all just go do something else now. I wanted to talk to him more but he told me to go f’ myself because I started complaining about how he doesn’t have a third move.
I don’t know what to feel right now I’m REALLY disappointed with Mr.Wiz’s post and torn between hope of a better guile and fear of a disappointing one.
I just want this to end and get the facts of the tweaks and changes.
I don’t care about any of the extras in super IF GUILE IS NOT IMPROVED.
I know all of us are pretty disappointed with Mr. Wiz’s write up, but let’s be realistic here. He had the game for a day and wrote up an article about 35 characters. Assuming he didn’t sleep or eat, he couldn’t have spent more than hour with each character.
Couple Wiz’s short time with each character and his lack of proficiency with all of them (it’s not that he’s not good, I just doubt he’s as good with Guile as some of us) and he can’t have seen everything SSF4 Guile has to offer. Hell, some of us are still finding new things with SF4 Guile. I say we still need to keep our hopes up until we get the game ourselves.
Though, to be honest, with both Keno and Wiz saying bad things about Guile, I am definitely not too optimistic. Stuff such as combo into Ultra off U2 through Dagger G’s suggestion is something that only us Guile players could do, but stuff like seeing if his normals do more damage is something anybody can check; Both Wiz and Keno have not noticed any big damage changes with Guile
Actually i’m optomistic, some of guiles main problems were getting raped of trades and fadc to ultra that seems to have been nerfed in general, if he does in fact have buffs that wizz didn’t notice thats only gonna be posative.
I am a bit shitty about dan being apparantly buffed more than guile, if dan is higher tier than guile i will rage. He is meant to be a joke, guile is the man he not a stupid joke like dan.

I doubt, much like Keno, that mr. wiz knows guile (in this iteration) well enough to notice the things that would make him good.
Wiz said Guile was “given nothing.” What does guile need more? The fuck did your want, a new special?
Something to consider: If all we got in super is a faster cr. mk, some enhanced frame data, slight damage buffs (and I mean slight), and 900 -> 1000 stun… how would wiz or keno be able to tell any of this? I think only really experienced sf4 guile players would be able to note differences like these.
