lol @ what megadeth said. i bet ill kick his ass using Guile and finish him with Sonic Hurricane to boot. If Guile isnt too unchanged i think the subtleties in his tweaks will make him good enough. i already think he is so a little goes a far way for me.
has anyone figured out whats going on with guile’s shades yet? he’s wearing them in the new hakan trailer…my guess is that they might have a similar use to sagat’s damage buff when he touches his scar.
Mr. Wizard’s preview of SSF4 says that Down+Taunt puts the shades on, no damage buff.

if guile is fucked, i may well start playing as chun li. similar kinda play style to guile + godlike new ultra = very tempting.
edit: from the sounds of things, dan has been given more buffs than guile. wtf?
I’m sure you guys have looked at the new Hakan trailer. But I main Guile soooooooooo, can someone tell me what the significance is off him having his shades on? In the trailer with Hakan shitting out the entire cast with his U2, Guile has on his shades. Does this mean he is getting another special? I know this was brought up before but I’m just wondering what it means. I know they wouldn’t just put shades on him for no reason, right? What do you guys think?
When they gave Sagat the angry scar move they could have given Guile a similar move where his dogtag glows and he does more damage. They can call the move ‘In memory of Charlie’. But that probably won’t happen cause Capcom cares more about the 3rd strike character and the new characters.

My guess on this is that it’s going to be similar as Dudley’s rose taunt except it does nothing and only make you look like a badass. Nothing more. He’s becoming a joke character now.
He’s becoming a joke? Dude, he’s been that way since SFIV came out. Not one person fears or respects him in this game. Only the skilled can play him properly.

does anyone in the guile thread know about the sf god’s garden 2 results? how in the hell is guile a joke character? there were more guile’s than e.hondas, balrogs, vegas, bisons, ryus, sagats, chun-li’s, blanka’s, and probably some more im leaving out. i feel like people get so frustrated at the fact that guile is SO basic. if you aren’t prepared to zone until time is out with 100 sonic booms per match, then don’t play him. but the reality of it is he doesn’t need A LOT of tweaking. I think it would be nice if guile could do SOMETHING after flash kick fadc but i mean in most cases its a good idea to backdash and get your distance back instead of adding 50 damage or mixup options (As his mixups kind of stink).
on a sidenote, i’ve been reading this thread and haven’t seen this brought up about his ultra 2. people seem kind of down on it somewhat. i would be excited if i played guile. if it works anything like cvs2 version of sonic boom lvl 3 it will work wonders for guile. i was thinking ultra 2 would help him punish c.mk’s and c.rh’s maybe, not sure though. thats what i would be testing.
I’ll be honest, I’m really disappointed that Sonic Hurricane is not a big badass buzzsaw. That was one reason I wanted it, the other being that it would probably be a lot more functional than Flash Explosion.

How can you be upset, there is like 1 video of him even connecting it, and that’s not even the final build. And there is one vid of him attempting to connect it. How could you be upset about an ultra we seen so little of?
Geez, after previewing the Dudley thread or any other character thread, people are so optimistic about their characters. Even looked at the Ken thread, and they are still optimistic. All I see in the Guile thread is a lot of whining and bitching. What a bunch of emos
I would like to have seen guile get a counter move(not ultra). I think it would suit his play style well.
Relax, I said I don’t like how it looks. No where did I say it was a shit ultra or anything like that. I would question your (family)manhood if you think it looks as badass as the good ol’ buzz-saw (joking). As it is right now, I think it looks underwhelming aesthetically, like Yoga Catastrophe.
At least it has less spinning than most of the other ultras.
