Guile’s c.mp>s.fp should be a 1 frame link, his lp>mp should be a 2 frame link, his usd kick should be an overhead since he’s in the air, Flashkick fadc df.rh, all sonic booms have same recovery as lp, and MORE DAMAGE. :rock:

wtf would be the point of making cr.mp > s.fp a one frame link? It’s called st. lp x3 > st. fp, learn it. If I’m landing cr.mp I’m doing a FK right after not some bum ass st. hp. I agree on the USD kick being an overhead. That as well as sobat need to be consider off the ground at a faster rate and not be able to be swept or thrown out of.

So just to run a tally, shotos can cr.mk under step kick, usd kick, sobat and st.hp.

shoto cr.mk is a godlike poke. I usually don’t press many buttons when I’m in it’s range. Ocassionally I try to snuff it out with a st.lk. For the most part, I try to get them to use it so I can at leat get a free sweep if it whiffs. It’s really hard to pressure shotos because of cr.mk. But I try to try my best to find a way around it. If they can have shoto cr.mk be so godlike, I don’t see anything wrong with Guile’s cr.mk being the same way. In ST the poke was good to, but at least Guile has equally good ones.

Perfectly timed it can swoop under sonic boom too (I believe, fireballs for sure), but that is a different thang.

I’ve had them do it to my sonic boom, i was slightly disturbed. I really, really wouldn’t care about thata t all if maybe Guiles stuff acted like it was supposed to, i’d be amazed if they actually gave his range back

No matter what, i’ll main Guile in super because my playstyle has become so favored towards him and i’d hate to have put all this effort in just to switch to someone else. But, i’ll probably play someone else on the side just because it’s a waste to play only one character like i do now.

I’m fairly certain that with pretty legit spacing, you can actually overhead their foot. It’s a weird distance though.

Nah, Dudley shouldn’t be difficult for Guile at all. Ibuki… not so much either. Don’t know about Juri. Guile’s hardest match up will be vs Makoto. If it’s anything like 3S, jumping over her will make her dash forward, and sweep your asssss. It’s going to be a ground war of the ages.

Makoto worries me a bit as well because shes a hard hitting character with insanely fast dashes that will mess with Guiles zoning badly. Looking at vids, she seems to have invulnerable forward command dashes as well and we all know what Gouken can dish out with his to Guile towards the corner.

Seems all new characters, new new and SF3, are very powerful, but harder to handle well.
I’m sticking with Guile until Charlie make an appearance but I’m seriously thinking about looking at another second aside from Boxer. Picking someone from the new roster seems like a very good choice in the long run. High learning curve, great set-ups and damage output.

Anyone else slightly jealous of all the hot new footage of the 3S characters AND the fact that all of them look pretty beastly?

Don’t get me wrong. It’s perfectly logical for them to focus on the new characters instead of the returning ones. Also, the changes we need for Guile aren’t exactly changes that are visually appealing and fun to watch (“Oh and if you see here, the hitbox and invulnerability on the FK has been improved” = Entertaining to Guile players only).

Still, the new characters are looking mighty impressive. Especially since, in SF4, I’d say there are more naturally defensive characters than there are offensive characters (A few of them being Rufus, Viper, Elf, Abel), so it’s nice to see more offensive characters in the mix. I love the family man, but I’m getting kind of anxious to jump ship hahaha.

Out of the new character makoto worries me the most. I can just imagine her focus dashing through my booms and ending the match right there. Ofcourse, if i imagine the matches with the current Guile, ANYTHING will be an improvement when it comes to actually playing the game. Juri, and ibuki don’t worry me all that much, they probably have less health and i can imagine current Guile doing fairly well against them, or maybe it would be a viper,gen or seth match where airthrow=win.

With a buffed Guile i’m not imagining that much of a problem, except with makoto.

Wow, i just watched the vids. They will have to have buffed Guile soooo much just to avoid things like 8-2’s with 3rd strike characters. Damn, they were soo incredibly generous with what they gave those 3 characters i’m sorta fearing how badly they went stingy on Guile

oh god ibuki seems like another wake up nightmare for guile from what i saw in the J. wong trailers. low ground kunais, and she can knockdown>Kunai cross-up 50-50 guessing game. thats akuma bullshit all over with someone much faster this time. not even mentioning makoto and dudley its looks like just the 3rd strike fighters alone are gonna shit all over Guile. :sad::sad::sad:
