It’s more like having your parents buy you a see through Christmas present with nice things inside that can only be unlocked with the key you have to pay 8.95 for
Capcom might as well just fire whoever they have in their PR department and relabel all future DLC as licensed content. Save money, save tears, save time!
You guys seem to forget that patching a game (especially with multiple patches) cost quite a bit of money. Having on-disc DLC does not cost the company money. As a result, the DLC can be sold cheaper. For example, we are getting 12 characters for $20, but BlazBlue sold 3 characters for $21.
The fact that we know about the content so early has nothing to do with Capcom. This info was leaked by people who hacked the disc. If you want to be mad at anyone, then you should be mad at them.
So it is 100% okay for companies to put DLC on the disc as long as you don’t know about it. I mean, what’s the difference? It’s perfectly okay to lie to everyone and say it’s DLC when it’s just content they already finished a long time ago.
FINISHED PRODUCT -> DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT.
Not DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT -> FINISHED PRODUCT.
If DLC was free (some companies still do this, amazingly) then it wouldn’t be a problem. But we’re already paying the standard price for the game *and then some *for content completed alongside the game we’re buying. That’s just…well, wrong, imo. Maybe I’m in the minority.
also my chris action figure fell like two feet and the arms broke off what the fuck capcom
But what I dont understand is: WHY?
Ive loved Capcom since i owned Megaman on Super Nintendo. I play all games that come out for them.
Im not stupid and you cant just throw out a contradicting lie in my face like that.
Im losing patience and care for this company. And I really like them alot.
i am going to design a neverending game called Fractal Factory. it has zero replay value because it has infinite play value, which is a paradox ending in of itself because it has zero value to start with! psychiatric counseling modules are planned for DLC.
Umm no. I’m just thinking like a logical person. Again I find it funny that before DLC announcement, the game was “complete” and everybody was hype and no sooner than we got the 12 character DLC damn near everyone jumped the gun and was all “FUCK CAPCOM”, “There screwing us over”, etc…and now the game is “imcomplete” because of 12 characters who for all intents and purposes were for future release.
I’m only speaking from a sales perspective. UMvC3 sold like shit and it was based on everyone feeling like it was too soon plus people who bought Vanilla feeling left out.
The stages are too big.
Fire ball game is stronger then in previous games.
A lot moves are missing (Especially with Mature)
Ex moves are too powerful
Wonky Hit boxes
I haven’t seen anyone make a strikingly obvious point: how does capcom get away with saying they didn’t have time to polish the game or include Xbox pair play, but they did have time to stash all this near-final dlc on-disc? They’ve become so arrogant to say that they basically don’t give a shit about the initial release, since ppl will pay full price and shell out for dlc down the line as well. The reason it matters that the dlc was found on disc is that it basically pulls back the curtain and exposes capcoms priorities: that dlc and saving content for the sequel is more important than delivering a quality product.
This is why I will never get dlc unless it is given to me.
All in all, this whole situation is just amusing to me. Still tripping on how the characters are basically done and in there but not accessible & gotta wait for the Vita lol.
It would be nice if none of the current fighting games had content on the disc or DLC released a month later forcing you to pau 15-20 bucks for core content, but they do it.
Namco, Capcom, SNK.
So, you just have to wonder if this luxury product offers you enough. Aside from voting with your wallet, you do not get much out of just saying ‘dick move’.
