I feel this just an excuse for bad netcode. I’m sorry but consider how every FPS since 1996 handled lag and I don’t recall many people bitching about it. Yeah they have offline tournaments but they have just as many online tournaments. Not trying to start shit, I just think saying our internet infrastructure is bad and this is why fighting games suck online is the weakest excuse possible. Of course you have a higher number of people on wireless on console that’s a given, but you have an equivalent number of people on PC playing TF2 with torrents or some other shit. The game working better online (which from what I understand 3SOE does not even in Japan) is not proof that Internet in the U.S. is garbage, it just means the infrastructure in Asia is so good they can make the crappiest netcodes shine.

I guarantee you if Valve or Bethesda or whoever decided to make a fighter for the PC it would run fine online.

What is everyone opinion on playing 3sO offline? I live in a city where the closest 3s machine if a 5 hour drive plus I have college classes Tuesday through Fridays and I can’t drive my self but there are weekly Ranbats where I can play some pretty good competiton but its obviously on 3sO I have not noticed any problems but that could be because I have never played on a 3s cab.

I couldn’t resist sporting this avatar after reading this thread. Thanks to Ryan for making it, thanks to Yi for this thread, thanks to ffa/denjin arcade homies for all the good REAL 3s times I’ve had, thanks to versus city cabs, and thanks Derek Neal for… well you’ve seen the picture above my name

Offline play is not good either. Especially since you need a CRT first off. And second, the timing is off on a lot of things, especially Genei Jin combos or super cancels. I’ve seen Hung and Pyro miss countless things while playing this. Even Justin said there was something wrong and he plays Chun Li…

Anyways. All I know is, we sent a fucking man to the moon in like the 50s or 60s. We can clone human beings. That is like a bazillion miles away and yet, we cannot have lagless online 3rd Strike. WTF

That is likely a result of this game actually being a polished DC version which had known timing discrepancies vs the Arcade.

What I don’t understand is why do developers feel the need to change anything about classic games? We wanted ST, we got crappy STHD. We wanted 3s, we get 3soe. Just give the people an arcade perfect version of the game they fell in love with. That should be the priority. Then after you’ve accomplished that you can add on stuff like new life bars or icons or whatever, but make that extra stuff a choice for the players and not the standard.

Nice read 5 Star
We can always use Arclive to play on PC right? At least the Chinese dudes know OE sucks and they didn’t remove 3S when OE came out lol
Last night I log on Arclive and found a player name “ボス” lol

At least playing on an emulators doesn’t make me look like an idiot when buying a new console just to play “arcade perfect promise” 3SOE!

No, I have not played in a real arcade. I simply consider that the faster speed makes the game more enjoyable. You like the original arcade speed, thats your preference.

Emulated 3s works flawless for me offline.Super cancels, links, kara moves, ex moves, all come out fine. I do not care if its close or not to real arcade’s speed.

yo did you know theres this thing called mugen? its really sick. look me up online gt: Pherai42069

Mugen is not even a real game. It’s a customizamble software/program.

how do you know if it works flawlessly then

Super cancels, links, kara moves, ex moves, all come out fine. Offline at least.

ey fancy pants do you wanna play mugen or not??

No. You are alone with this request.

I think I found a friend!

Hugs.

The producer of the game went to japan for SBO, lost to the online qualifier in blazblue ct and spent all his time getting anime instead of practicing his game. Now he doesn’t play because he doesn’t have braindead Nu. Just thought you guys would like to know that.

About what people said earlier in this thread about EX moves not coming out. I have also experienced this, as has Kai/Nydrin, and this is during offline play (360). I cannot prove there is a problem, but I’d like to see someone with a programmable macro controller or something just do EX moves with the same exact input on the same frames, over and over and see if it misses any. I’d like to see some actual research done.

The meter bar length definitely needs to be fixed.

I really despise this line of thought that pervades the fighting game community. Top players are not gods. Top players often times do not know more about a game than non-top players. Top players are not geniuses (and can often be idiots). Being a top player at a game does not actually make you more credible in situations like this. Why don’t you think for yourself instead of relying solely on the spoken word of another person, just because they’re a top player? Why not do some real scientific research?

It’s good for people to share what they think may be wrong with the game. But unless someone actually scientifically proves anything, it becomes pretty pointless to argue about, and it can actually be harmful if it turns out not to be true, because people take this stuff as fact and spread it around.

interesting.

is that hyoyeon?
