I thought 3SOE was going to keep me occupied for the rest of the year but it looks like I’m dedicating most of my time to KOF13.
Holy fuck @ this thread. I really love 3SOE, but Im not an old school 3S head, and there are some issues with the menus and options that seem like they’d have been easy to get right in the first place and could be fixed pretty easily with a patch.
Still, I wish more people enjoyed it…
Alright, here’s my beef with 3SO. The color packs have one or two characters at most with decent colors. Almost no work was put into that crap. Seriously. Some of the ideas there suck.
Some of them are bad pallette alterations.
Check out the belt on the awful Ken in a black gi. When things are a certain style of pallette of colors, there is a limitation to making decent alterations. Some colors will have offset coloring that will make no sense. You need to put a lot of time into that. That crap is ruined.
I don’t like that my rank still says rank 0. I’m number 6 urien on psn, not that it means dick, because rank is worthless. Anyone can grind all damn day vs day one SFIV players… Why the fuck isn’t rank based on KDR? I can’t stand the fact its a grindfest. I see dudes with like 100 wins and 1500 losses are top 10. Gimme a break. This game has been ridiculously cheapened from the masterpiece it is live…
Ranked matches over time give you bad habits, because you can just murder day ones and become complacent. Its really bad for your game to even bother with ranked.
Why does the music stop randomly during play?
Why does this game freeze my console? I hate having to hard reset. Like PSN couldn’t suck enough as is.
Why the hell didnt they implement a online training mode? I’d have love to have seen that. I hate the fact that after I do a match, I even have to pick select character or rematch. Just send me to the character select. I also hate how you get a countdown, and it sends you back to the lobby, which leads to another countdown. There is already enough time on the char select to run off and take a piss and come back. Lobbies are a mess. I wouldn’t call them lobbies.
I’m tired of teleporting bullshit. I played one match against some akuma and I had no chance of winning… It’d cut in and out of shit of me being hit. Like imagine a opponent being past sweep distance, then you’re just being thrown. Its like remy’s kara throw x 3.
Hit confirms are basically done for on the shitty PSN version, and I think even playing it with anyone who isn’t super local will hurt your game bad. I use a character who’s known to cause severe frustration, and online its not making anything easier.
I say screw wishful thinking, go to a arcade once a week or so and play the real thing. Nothing beats live play. Lucky enough to be spoiled with a cali scene, think I’ll stick to that and ignore this nonsense. I’m only playing local fiends like cruise, jordan, neiman tenren and others. This shit is strictly for that imo. I hate that I don’t get a good enough connection with C-Royd. Guy seems real cool.
To me 3S is a passion. I’ll see you goons at super. Thats what really counts, online is just for practicing stuff for the arcade. Also, keep in mind that all these games are catering to a shitty situation in the USA. ANCIENT CONNECTIONS. We are so behind the times with internet connections. I think using japanese play as a example wouldnt be fair, I am probably wrong but I heard it has a lan style community thing, where connections are awesome. Plus the whole area is more compact. The USA has to much variance, to many greedy corps who give us the bare minimum for a ton of cash each month.
We love 3rd Strike, just not 3SOE.
