Also, I don’t even give a shit about it not being totally arcade-perfect or 99% arcade-perfect or even 70% arcade-perfect when the online is balls.
It’s has “ONLINE EDITION” right under the subtitle yet I can’t even play online with any sort of consistency as playing offline
I guess it means at least we can play against other people online as the bare minimum and we should be happy with just that?
Ranks? What the frack? At least with SSFIV’s PP/BP system it gives you some appearance of a player’s skill level.

From what I can tell there’s absolutely no matchmaking criteria other than “search”

They seriously need to change their codec for YouTube uploads or something, they still look like hot shit and I can’t even tell who’s playing who unless I uploaded the replay myself (sucks for Xbox 360 users!) Why is it that ppl think 3so online experience is bad. I thought it had the best netcode out of all FG releases (besides turbo HD). All i get is green bars for the most part and matches are soo smooth when it comes to both input and frames that it was a blast to play, until ppl started leaving 
this is just what I had over a week ago…it really wasn’t that bad when I started playing 3SOE
you may have a point that it got worse when ppl started leaving because then I guess there’s only the hardcores and pros playing and then there’s the noobs and scrubs grinding for Rank

PD: I’m not an expert but 3OE works for me at least, i casually played it for quite some time and this version is quite accessible, it is not perfect but for basic needs of fun I think it works.
I want this thread to die just so I don’t have to read K3lloggz constantly dropping “elitist” to get his point across.
P.S.- There have been NUMEROUS complaints about how bad the online experience is for OE(JohnPwns seems to pop up in quite a few of them too). You’re just one of the lucky ones I guess.

There was a thread about testing all the versions of Super Turbo for input lag that I was reading somewhere on these forums last week, and I was going to point you at. I wish I could find it. I remember that FBA had a couple more frames of lag running on Windows (with Aero turned on or off though on was worse of course) over the arcade hardware. That’s what we’d expect and it’s likely the same for anything else the emulator is running. If I find it again I’ll link you to it. Anyway I’m pretty fond of emulators, definitely not a basher! Just trying to be realistic based on the information I have.
Also, I’ve got a question for anyone who knows anything about it: what would it take to obtain an arcade version of 3S? Would I need to just buy a cabinet straight up, or some kind of kit to put together, or something else? I think I could scrounge up the money, I just have no clue where to begin. If I can figure it all out I’d love to run tests of OE against the real thing, see where timing/lag/inputs differ, all of that stuff. There’s a lot of talk about OE but aside from the PS3 vs 360 lag tests no one has tested anything AFAIK. Until we have real data all the arguing won’t accomplish much.
Is it true that EX moves sometimes don’t come out? I’ve never had that happen to me before. O_o
For me, playing online works fine. They just need a better interface in that field as well as in the other modes, fix some glitches, etc. I will keep playing 3SOE. Fuck it, I am gonna play Gundam now.
Definitely it is not good for marketing. It’s financially smart but obviously it leaves an awful taste in many peoples’ mouths. It’s depressing how everything turned out. Especially so because I think everyone here actually expected this but didn’t want to believe Capcom would really be* that shitty.*

Anyways, I think people are taking it a little too far with how sour they’ve gotten over 3soe but that’s redundant to say because the left over community that plays 3S are mostly “hardcore” from what I can tell so it comes with the territory for them to rage hard over this game. Still, I’m surprised the community’s come to this over this game. Anyone expecting Neal to deliver 100% on his promises must not have thought this whole thing through.

And personally, if you didn’t expect extreme fanboy rage from an inferior port that was distinctly pointed out to be geared towards those fanboys(which is what Derek Neal has been pointing out over and over), then…well, I dunno what else to say.
But even then, I don’t blame Iron Galaxy or Derek Neal. Capcom just dropped the ball hard on this in the end. This isn’t just from 3S either; the past couple years they’ve been leaving a bad taste in my mouth from shitty decisions, but that’s for another time.

As far as who it was aimed at, it seems like they were purposefully dishonest from the beginning. If it was aimed at people who care about it being arcade perfect we wouldn’t have gotten the remixed music, the vault, or the “HD” filters. No one ever wanted those things. The development process and the advertising process seem to have been completely separate areas.
That’s something I’ve been curious about since the original announcement. I’m hesitant to call Neal, capcom, etc “liars and cheats”. For all we know, they really were trying to deliver on their promises but shit happened. Since they’re in the game making business and shit happens way too often. I do strongly agree that they totally dropped the ball but I’ll still take what I can get. I’m glad I got another 3s, one that I can play on the 360 since I don’t have a ps2, etc.
PS: I first played on the dreamcast and fell in love w/ it. Of course back then I was a casual…
I’d still take OE over PS2/DC. After playing arcade-only for a solid two years, going back to the PS2 was hell. Reversals and overall timing were just funky to me. I’ve spent less time adjusting to OE than the PS2 so I’ll gladly play on that.
It’s just the principle for me. No matter how you want to sympathize, they still lied, they don’t plan on fixing the list of complaints that IG has even said they were willing to do, and this is just another reason for long-time fans to hate Capcom. Like I said, this isn’t the only game I’m mad about. No MML3 but we got the stupid-ass MMX on the iPhone that’s even more of a trainwreck.
True. I suppose sympathizing or trying to understand really doesn’t help in the long term either as it’s their job/responsibility to follow through on their promises. Either way, after seeing all the disappointments and all the games that promised big things and delivered very little it’s hard to really be surprised. It just hits home with 3s.
All in all, … damn. What else is there to say? It’s been months and we know nothing’s gonna change. Except for I’d like to match up against some of you guys. I used to think I was the shit at this game, then I stopped playing, came back when 3soe came out and am learning first hand how I’m… cold shit? Meh, that sounded better in my head.
