Maybe we should all just start using 3x buttons instead of two. Like just press all three for EX like it’s an ultra or something. Maybe that’ll cover it… Since all these 3 button tests seem to be working most of the time.
If it gets to the point where I feel I need to use a 3x button for EX’s to be competitive I’ll just play on FBA because that’s ridiculous also on the same day as the Makoto dashing through my EX MGB I also EX MGB through Oro’s standing Strong if that can happen in any other port or the arcade please tell me.
Apparently the EX-MGB is in fact a known arcade bug. That’s what JAK told me a few posts back. The st.Strong I have no idea. That’s actually alot crazier than the Makoto thing if you ask me. I mean Oro is short but… a standing normal that doesn’t bump him up off the ground? EX through it? That’s pretty whack.
Actually if anyone can point me to a FAQ or list of known 3s arcade bugs I’d hugely appreciate it. I haven’t been able to google-fu one up.
Either way I’m definitely working toward getting an actual cab now so I guess I don’t care anymore.
This shit sure does make it hard to build up a little community for this game.
You mean it drops inputs etc etc online? I got confused by that for a sec. And from the looks of it I’d say most people here would agree with you so there’s no point in “trying to be nice”.
Yeah I don’t think anyone will defend the online play. Stuff is whack, and I see way too many impossible situations only to watch the replay and see that what I saw on my screen was nowhere near what the game thinks actually happened. GGPO on PC seemed like it worked better.
online drops a lot of inputs. the more lag = the more dropped inputs.
ex? pray to the 3s gods it comes out. kara throwing? good luck. maybe a 1 out 5 chance it comes out.
offline, i was having problems doing ex at first, but after replacing a couple buttons it seems ok to me now. remember to hit all three buttons for ex moves guys.
ps. crt 4 life.
Of course, nFBA is superior to MAME as far as 3s emulation. Input delay does not exist or its very minimum offline(HD monitors issues most propably).
3s was emulated fine from the very first versions of nFBA (excluding the speed issues, if you think faster is bad), while MAME used to display “THIS GAME EMULATION IS NOT 100% CORRECT”. PS2 port was propably the fastest 3s version + some inaccurate stuff, but it was still acceptable and praised as a good port.
Online adds input delay on emu/console, that’s a fact. That problem alone will stay unsolved for long time, despite the good GGPO netcode.
I still do not get this.
Do you not play with other people or something? The idea that a different speed than the original authentic game is anything but inferior doesn’t make any sense.
It’s not like it’s a game option or something and it isn’t so extreme that it’s like going from sf2 to st or something. It just makes a lot of things more difficult to react to which is not how it was designed.
That’s off topic, but I will answer.
I own 3s on ps2, ps3 and emu version. Arcade cabs here are non existent. I play with friends either on emu or ps2. I bought 3soE for a better ggpo netplay.
Which or what said that? Are you implying that i said that? I said I do not care about the faster speed on emu. Arcade is supposed to be slower according to you and anyone else who is lucky enough to play on cab. Emulated 3s is the same game with the same chars and the same combos right? I am fine with that.
Bro, you really dislike emulated 3s.
OK that’s fine.
I dislike emulated 3S, yes. Let me give you a comparison.
You’ve only ever eaten kraft singles cheese. You presume that’s what cheese is; that’s what it tastes like. Then you have some legitimate cheese and your perspective is changed dramatically. You are now enlightened to what cheese is and can’t really understand why people think kraft singles even taste like actual cheese. Probably because they haven’t tried very much real cheese.
This is essentially my experience. The day I played on cab I realized everyone who says it’s a pretty different experience were 100% correct. Playing emu that same day felt completely retarded. The only people who either don’t care or argue otherwise have never spent much time playing the cps3 game. If they had they would simply not say what they do. It’s really that simple.
Don’t diss Kraft cheese bro.
Kraft Singles are terrible man go get some Sargento if you need sliced cheese bro.
I pretty much agree with everything Tebbo said regarding 3S and emulation/console ports. Unless you try out arcade, you just don’t know. Not trying to sound all high and mighty about this either, there’s a certain level of frustration that you won’t know about until you experience it yourself.
Arcade or bust.
They are trying to use shortcut inputs, I bet. :3
A truthful post. You have elaborated your thoughts based on your experience as a player on a cab.
Keep in mind, not all ppl are able to play the real arcade, because it is simply non-existant in their neighbourhood(including myself). But they still love this game and want to play in any way possible. There are only 2 options left. Console and emu.
Fail.
Yeah. It’s really a shame. I think initially when you made some other post it was because of your phrasing that made it sound strange. No problem with playing the game the only ways you can. Just as long as you realize that your experience doesn’t actually reflect the original experience designed for the game. It’s definitely close but it isn’t the same and unfortunately the ways in which it differs end up changing the experience somewhat significantly.
If I could play on a cab, I would propably recommend and support it the same way as you do. Since that’s impossible, I can only switch
between emu and console. From my experience(offline/online/practicing Yun/Yang/Ken combos, etc), I still choose emu (nFBA).
I’d still like to see some kind of actual proof that every and all emulated versions of 3s differentiate in speed compared to the arcade. Some kind of side-by-side comparison between the to or something. Just people’s word isn’t enough for me unfortunately.
What about doing it yourself?
Don’t know what to tell you really. Every player who plays majority on cab is going to tell you it runs faster.
I don’t have a doubt about that at all. I would bet you $10 that the entire so cal group of players will tell you it runs faster. I’m 99% sure I can speak for my playgroup and say they will give you same response. They include names you’d know if you have watched or played EC 3S.
