Of course it doesn’t. Why would something useful be in OE?
Okay so I’ve been following this topic with interest, and agree it seems like Capcom did not do so hot here. I understand people being frustrated, especially people who are actually familiar with the arcade version of the game.
That being said, it’s still the best version of the game available to most of us, right? If PC emulation is a no go because if runs too fast (FBA/GGPO) or has input lag (MAME), and all the previous console ports were worse, this is still an improvement over what we have, right? I’m not saying this as in “let’s give Capcom a pass” but in response to people talking about selling their console in disgust. I can understand people who have access to an arcade saying “screw it, I’ll just keep playing it there” but I’m not in that situation and I suspect a lot of people aren’t. You’d rather sell your console and not play the game than play on a not arcade perfect version? I’m disappointed that it didn’t live up to the hype but OE is still the best option for me given the choices.

This is not the best version. No Blue Aegis, no distorted voice for XCOPY, sound bugs, and even more disturbing is the dropped inputs for EX moves and perhaps more. That alone makes it far inferior to the arcade version, and even worse than the PS2 port and emulation.
You’d be better off just playing it in Mame.
It is not acceptable. If what they said about the budget for this title being true. Then there is no fucking excuse for this release. No excuse. It’s complete fucking garbage and any integrity Capcom once had is now gone forever.
Christ, that’s the exact same thing I was saying before Capcom even released 3SO, how the hell did they do SO POORLY?
I agree with you guys and i love the BAN DEREK NEAL pic. online is great, but everything else looks garbage. it’s like if this iron galaxy didn’t put a single effort in making any aspect better. example: we need to make a new hud? i guess a guy from the team made a sketch and everybody else said IT’S OK AS IT IS! NEEEXT. they didn’t spend time improving a single thing and everything looks rushed. i mean, the new hud is awful. look at those portraits under the life bar. awful. at least they did serve a purpose in the arcade version: in mirror matches you could identify quickly both players. now those portraits are just occupying space. and the other things the other posted, like twelve’s voice, urien not bleeding when he rips his arm, i mean, all those details are simply gone because of the inexperience and lazyness of those developers.
I posted countless times constructive complaints (i’m not talking about adding other features, just fix the current ones) in the capcom unity forum, but they really don’t care anymore since they got what they wanted: our money. and those dlc suck. and i always boycotted dlcs in other games, but i’m going to boycott dlcs in 3s 100 times more with rage. and I love 3s, i mean i’ve been playing this game and this game only for 10 years.
and a final note: i really didnt like how neal and the other guy killan “sold” the game. in all those interviews they were always remarking “we’re not gonna add this because it’s just a 15$ game… we’re not gonna implement that because of the low budget… hey for 15$ you can’t expect us to listen to your requests”. now, if someone dares to tell me, (=the guy paying), that my money is garbage and that they are doing me a favor by selling me their products, i’m gonna slap their faces until they bleed. and that’s what they tried to do with this game, they attempted to change the truth and instill in customers the idea that “15$ is cheap so you get what you paid and now shut up”. guys, 15$ isn’t cheap and we should value our money more. for 15$ i want a product that doesn’t have stupid glitches in menu and in game. for 15$ i want the developers to keep addressing bugs and patch them. they tried to convince customers that they’re making a favor by releasing this game and we should be happy that we got it in the first place. you either release a good product or don’t.
15$ is not a lot of money but we aren’t talking about money here we are talking about principle we are talking about false advertising and blatant lies. Honestly capcom deserves to get sued so they can get their heads out of their asses and start making good games again.
Turning into a western company wtf? Who was the brilliant guy that came up with that idea? I understand that they need to make money first and foremost but that never stopped them from making good games and having good sales before they changed their target market. And seriously start developing remakes like 3s in your japanese studios where the people that will work on the product will at least have an idea on what they are doing.
Yay just found another 3sO glitch I was trying to see who EX MGB, Jab MGB, Duck Upper works on midscreen if you bring the training mode dummy down to no life when he gets back up (after waiting for the auto-block period) he will get hit by the ST RH block a few hits of the EX MGB and then get hit by the last 4 hits doesn’t really matter that much in terms of gameplay but once again shows Iron Galaxy’s laziness.
Is it really that bad? Well that’s just swell. Thank you everybody for saving me 15 bucks.
go get a couple of meals at McDonalds for 2-3 days. that’s a better deal for $15…hmmm…however it’s also unfair to compare a game that needs improvement to something as godlike like McDonalds.

that existed in all the ports. it’s one of those small problems that i tried bringing up during development but nobody read it amid the garbage rebalance discussion. so in 2011 you still need to wait for the health to refill in 3S training mode. sigh.

These guys are just super hardcore. If you enjoy the game, its worth it.
You got what you paid for, stop crying for goodness sake, this game is over 10 years old anyway, it’s as good as dead. And whoever believes the mountain of poo Seth spill out from his oral orifice deserves to be disappointed, you can tell the guy doesn’t even like the game - he couldn’t even play it properly in the preview videos. It was all just marketing hype.
From what I can tell from reading the dropped EX input discussion thread, no one’s even sure that those inputs are dropping. MAME is also well-established as having some pretty nasty input lag. I certainly would take a couple messed up sound effects over consistent lag. Like maybe I’m just missing something important, but whenever people get down to specifics I’m not seeing the part where this is the worst port. The issues you listed seem pretty minor and not gamebreaking. And to me, certainly a good tradeoff if the timing is closer to the arcade than PS2 or FBA/GGPO.
I’ll reiterate that I understand the anger. They promised arcade perfect and it isn’t. But all in all this seems better than what we had before.
