What I said on page 1:
Figure out where the SNES +5v (or maybe +3.5v) is and don’t forget to connect it to the PS1’s +3.5v (or was it +5v?).
I’ll make sure I do. Thanks
oh this thread is back
currently my CPSF serves as a Wii/PS1/2/3 (w. PS > USB adapter) stick right now.
I picked up the Genesis/MD version today. It was sitting on a shelf for years at a local retro shop. I’m amazed that this was available in the 'states in the early 90s. I probably wouldn’t have appreciated it back then, however. I definitely preferred Happ back then.
Quick question to anyone who has one of these:
On GameSX wiki, it mentions:
“There are two connectors on the rear, one is used for the infra-red remote pack, the other is a heavily modified DB-15 (NeoGeo stick connector) plug.”
Can anyone tell me if this connector has output signals for the stick & buttons?
I’d have to double check but as far as i can remember both plugs just connected straight to the main chip of the PCB, and not any buttons.
Then again my CPSF PCB is cut to pieces so i wouldn’t really know anyways lol
How much did you get it for? I was looking for one of those before I bought my SNES one.
I got one of these in the early 90’s as a birthday present from my parents (hoping it would curb me from hitting the arcade as much, which didn’t work). My mom was floored once I opened it that there was no new game, and it was JUST a controller, but it was one of my favorite gifts ever. We didn’t have a lot of spare money, so it was a huge deal to me to get one of these.
Sadly, I remember soon after getting it that most of my friends wouldn’t want to play me in SF2, TMNT, MK and such anymore. It was seen as a competitive advantage, so I practiced on it at home and also played pad a lot.
I fucking loved it and beat on it for years. I recently found it tucked away in the attic and played some classic SF2 on the SNES, and man while it’s no TE it’s surprisingly solid. I opened up mine and it looked to have a Seimitsu stick or clone in there. Still plays fine, which surprised the shit out of my parents.
I really gotta fix it up and make it a player 2 stick in place of my modded SE. And holy tapdancing Christ is the PCB ridiculously big.
I paid around $15 for it after trading in some stuff. Original price was $29. After spending time with MUSHA, Shinobi III and Contra Hard Corps on it, I would have gladly paid full price.
Am just after buying a SNES CPSF that was listed as “junk”.
Let’s see what I can do with it…
This reminds me of my mom always telling me about all this stuff she held onto for my brother and me. Maybe it would be worth patching things up with my dad so I could come over and dig through the attic.
So I finished my stick weeks ago but hadn’t uploaded it because I was too busy using it online. I went with some 24mm Sanwa snap-in buttons and kept the stock Sanwa JLW it had in there. I got me a 45mm Ball top and for a dust washer I went with an old metalic pog (or slammer) that I had laying around, its from an old show called Medabots.

Excellent! That’s how you do it! Nice touch w/ the the slammer

I’m still waiting for wip3outguy7 to ask me to mod those buttons. come on son you know you want too.
Thanks. I thought about throwing that idea out on a thread but thought that maybe not everyone knows what a slammer is
Agree with phaedrus, the MD stick would great with matching buttons to go with the bubble top.
Here’s my attempt at the button mod, started awhile back but still have not had chance to finish the stick yet. Tried to keep it clean as possible but left the rough edges on the inside to aid with grip.

Looks great, so far, man! You gonna put that “Control” switch back in to select your dual mod?

I’ve just finished mine, it has sanwa buttons and the LS40 stick, I left a DB-9 plug for a removable PSX cable, it’s compatible with psx, ps2 and ps3 thanks to the converter, also Wii.
I bought yellow and light blue buttons to give it a more "capcom look"
So much effort, at last I got a functioning** Capcom Power Stick**!
You don’t know for how long I wanted this, I believe since it was announced in the chilean magazine “Club Nintendo” when street fighter II was launched in america.
Now I’m going to buy Street Fighter 3 online edition in PSN
